I am a shy person, and I would like to meet someone, but I find it really frustrating to just go up to someone who looks like a potential girl. I feel I have nothing to start the connection. And I think another reason is there are just way too many girls around (live in the city) and have no idea how to initiate conversations with girls. Any suggestions?

telling someone to be themself is the worst possible advice to give someone, after all you are being yourself and then haveing to ask these questions right?? try to make eye connection with them, let them catch you staring at them so they know your interested, then if they smile or something like that, then go up to them and sit next to them and say hi. common questions you can ask is about them, are what school they go to if minor, THEIR NAME, and just relax and make a joke that nobody else would have made. just so long as its not too offensive and you have to come off as joking around.
Remember that alot of people do the exact same thing that you want to do, and besides you'll probably never see them again, i know i haven't. avoid talking about yourself and try to find out more about the other person. Girls have fantisies too, daydreams and probably have had the same sexual fantasty you probably have already had
keep your sheets clean!

well initiate a conversation by saying Hi how r u... just keep it simple.
