Don't go to Wal-Mart. You should protest that sweat shop of a mega franchise. They treat their employees like shyt. Anyway... I like the Dove shampoos. They have different types for damaged, oily and color treated hair. Go buy them at K-Mart or Target or some other wholesale place.

why did that person have to comment about wal mart and the way they treat their employees, if they don't want to work there, they can work somewhere else. No one is forcing them to work anywhere.
Now, onto prodcuts, ALL shampoos are made with "surfactants" such as sodium laurel sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate. It's in every shampoo and soap sold. it's what breaks down oil. So really, it becomes about "how much" of that ingredient is in certain products. If you have oily hair, you can handle more. If you have dry or curly or processed hair, you should stay away from brands that use alot and typically, it's the brands in grocery and drug stores!! so in reality, every single person should identify their hair needs and base their purchase on that. I personally NEVER buy products at a drug store because I know the other ingredients aren't substancial enough for my curly, thick and colored hair. I have to have an intense shampoo and conditioner from a salon or beauty supply.
So it isn't about what's good at wal- mart, it's about whether someone has special needs or not. If you're going to buy drug store or wal mart, I would have to say that your best bet is L'oreal because it's the same company that mannufactures the high end Lancome makeup and Kerastasse hair products that are ungodly expensive. But you're getting the same scientific research since it's all the same company.

I know a lot of people don't like Pantene, but personally, it has always worked well for me. I especially like the Smooth and Silky kind.
Wal-mart also carries Sunsilk shampoo, which is great! I would recommend this kind because they have a wide variety of types that help solve various hair issues.
I definitely do not like Suave shampoo or conditioner. It makes my hair feel greasy and the conditioner doesn't make my hair feel soft at all.

i am not aware of any studies. but i work at wally world as well, and the suave salon products work really well. Our wal-mart also carries Nexus products, which used to only be available in salons, that is supposed to be excellent.

It depends on your hair type, how much you are looking to spend, etc. Suave is actually a good shampoo, Aussie products smell great, love Prell. I switch off shampoos from time to time, makes my hair look better I think.
