Premenstrual Syndrome.
It is a whole host of symptoms, both physiologic and psychologic, that are mediated by hormone levels in the blood stream.
Depending on where a woman is in her menstrual cycle, she can experience sweats and chills with or without low-grade fevers, body aches, nausea, food cravings, constipation, leg cramps, short-term memory difficulties, irritability, depression, mania or hypomania. Each symptom can be exacerbated or alleviated by diet, medications, general health, environment, and her emotional support system.
