Price is good but how is the car? Is it durable? Comfortable, with enough back seat room? How is it on gas? Please comment as you wish. Thanks.

I would expect, that a Volkswagen Passat, when given regular fuel, might passat gas. Seriously, you might void your warranty if you use other than what the dealer says. At a minimum, it will run roughly and sluggishly, and your performance will be disappointed. I run my little motorbike on 95 octane gas, which is mid-range. (I live in Taiwan). 92 is OK for tootling around town. I once accidentally put 98 in my little 125 cc scooter, and I thought it had suddenly grown an extra cylinder. There was definitley another horse in the herd.

I've had 3 5-speed Golfs: '87, 95, '00
All got between 28-30 MPG
All have exceeded 150,000 miles with minimal repairs

I drive at least 30,000 miles a year, and I drive hard and fast -- these cars feel like an extension of my body; and when I ask them to do something, it gets done.

I'd have gotten a Passat if I could have afforded it...

As long as its a V-6 Passat it will be a good car but don't blow off ANY maintenance on it.

that's not really a lot of miles if you think about it and the national average of about 12,000 miles annually.

VW usually run forever!!

If the price is good go for it.
