A good Jehovah's Witness would not date a non-Witness.

An actual Jehovah's Witness would not father a child out of wedlock.

Despite these obvious shortcomings, it seems possible that this "boyfriend" may be trying to become a Jehovah's Witness, or perhaps he simply respects the religion of his family. If that is the case, he correctly understands a "christening" to be a false religious ceremony with which no true Christian would want to be associated.

Please consider the religious sensibilities of the child's father, as well as the clear Scriptural teaching that baptism is only for mature persons who can personally decide to make that dedication.

Jehovah Witnesses are Christians, they believe in Christ Jesus and that exercising faith in his ransom sacrifice and doing the will of God is the only way to be saved. They live by Bible standards which are the word of God, they observe the Memorial of Christ every year at sunset on the calender date corresponding to the Jewish date of Nisan 14 which Jesus Christ established. Take the time to understand his faith and study with him, keep and open heart and learn what the Bible really teaches. Jehovah Witnesses take their name from Isaiah 43:10 which says you are my witnesses is the utterance of Jehovah. Reading Psalms 83:18 in an older King James Version will confirm that God's name is Jehovah which is the English translation from the Hebrew name Yahweh. You never mentioned if he was baptised a Jehovah Witness or is studying, if you have a child now or want one. Jehovah Witnesses are not suppose to marry outside their faith although some do. A Jehovah Witness would not be disfellowedshipped for marrying outside his faith but it does present problems. Many Jehovah Witnesses became witnesses while already married and their mates are not or became witnesses after having children outside of marriages. Jehovah Witnesses come from all walks of life from over 235 lands around the earth, many where of former religions or even athiests. Many mates became Witnesses years after their spouse because of the fine conduct. Most people do not truely understand Jehovah Witnesses nor do they want to. As the Bible states: The world hates what is not it's own, but they are in good company as the world put Jesus to death. A slave is not above his master, if they hated me they will hate you also said Jesus.

Talk it over with your boyfriend he should be able to show you some scriptures and articles concerning Christening. Someone should be baptized only when they have come to an accurate knowledge of God and his Word and have applied it in their life. It must be a heartfelt decision of that person, not something that is forced. If your son has done these things then he should be baptized if not then he shouldn't.

Not quite sure I understand what you mean. Are you saying you already have a son with your boyfriend and the two of you are not married? Are you speaking of a christening (baptism in a church) ? JW's do consider themselves a christian denomination... however they do not believe in baptism of infants or very young children. JW religion is definitly opposed to marrying out of the faith.... Young JW people are not supposed to even date or be alone with opposite sex JW unless chaperoned so as to avoid temptation of the flesh....You need to ask a lot of questions and become informed.

There is a verse in the bible where it talks about being yoked with an unbeliever. 2 cor 6:14 "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness." In other words both of you come from two different backgrounds and two different religions.Either one of you gives in to the other religion or have a confused child. The example starts at home.

Your boyfriend? And you have a child?
Jehovah Witnesses don't do that. I know that religion well enough to know they don't believe in sex outside of marriage.
He is not a Jehovah's Witnesses because if he had a child and he isn't married they kick them out of that faith.
Besides they don't marry people of other faiths. Ever!
I know those people. That's not an option>

No, it isn't wrong to want your son christened. If your boyfriend tells you it is, show him the door.

Jehovah's Witnesses do date and marry outside of their faith and aren't shunned.

I don't know if it is allowed in christianity to marry to a man from another religion, but about your son, after you get wed and he is born, I think no difference for your son to be christened or not, after he is grown up let him know about other religions and let him choose his own religion.
