I found Spanish pretty easy to learn, actually. Just keep in mind that any language is going to be easier for you if you actually have an interest in learning it. If you're just taking Spanish because you need the credit, you're going to have a harder time. My advice would be to soak up the language and culture(s) of the people that speak the language as much as you can.

Rent some Spanish-language movies and watch them with the English subtitles at first, and then switch to the Spanish subtitles after you get a little better. Some of my favorites include: Mar adentro (the Sea Inside), Y tu mamá también (And Your Mother Too, but usually it's called by its Spanish title at the video store. Note, lots of very graphic sex scenes in this one, don't know if it would offend you or not...), Diarios de motocicleta (The Motorcycle Diaries), Abre los ojos (Open Your Eyes, this is the original version of Vanilla Sky). The list goes on, just find what you like. You can also watch movies in English with the Spanish subtitles on, but it might be a little confusing at first--I would probably wait until you feel like you're getting more proficient for that, so you know the tenses and all.

You can also start listening to music in Spanish. You probably won't understand the words for a while, but look up the lyrics online and try to pick out the words when you listen to it. At this point, this will mostly just expose you to that Spanish-speaking state of mind that will make it much easier to pick up the language. My favorite Spanish language musicians include: Bebe (She's from Spain, her accent is really thick, but her music is amazing! She won 5 Latin Grammys last year), Cafe Tacuba (a sort of alternative group from Mexico, they're very popular), Ozomatli (a great group from LA, I think, you'll find a lot of English in their songs), Ojos de Brujo (they're sort of "nuevo flamenco" in style. Even if you can't understand a word, you'll be dancing, I promise!).

Buena suerte!! (Good luck!!)

I'm a native Spanish speaker so I took a spanish class just to see what thet teach, I found that the students can speak it, however they have horrible conjugation and grammar skills. Spanish is easy, but if you want to sound like a native, without accent, wrong grammar and all, its hella hard.
Ps. we can totally tell if someone is a "gringo" when they make at least one mistake in speaking.

Due to luck or clerk's error, I entered in Spanish section. I did not know anything about Spanish, and I wanted to learn Russian.

It is one of the most easy languages. You will admire yourself after learning this language.

I am an Indian .

spanish is pretty easy, as a lot of words are similar to English words...and also, in Spanish, once you learn a noun/verb, you can usually figure out the noun/verb that goes with it...like beso is a kiss, and besar is to kiss, etc. If you study and apply yourself, it should be easy, and it will be a great asset to you when you try to get a job later, no matter what your field!

Spanish is one of the easiest languages to learn. All words sound the way they are spelt, once you learn the alphabet. Very logical grammar.

just don't learn just spanish.

Try to learn the latin culture. Pick up one spanish speaking country, like Perú, my country, and try to learn it's culture, too.

It will be funnier and the spanish language will be easier for you.

Try to chat with real spanish speaking guys, participate in spanish speaking forums and so.

Read spanish comics, and, sing spanish songs ...

easy, but for people who speak english, they think that it is hard, if you speak french or so , it;'s very easy, the grammar is kinda tough, I never understood the difference between the preterite or imperfect, but you have to memorize a lot of stuff, I like it
