Eventually flat irons will dry out your hair. But using products like frizz ease will help reduce the chances. Your best bet is to reduce the amount of heat on the flat iron and not do it as often.

Flat irons (and any other tools that use heat) can be damaging to your hair. Your best bet is to use a flat iron with ceramic plates (instead of metal) and use a protection product before straightening your hair to keep from damaging it. A great product for this is called Anti-snap by Redken. It works miracles. Also, you can buy heat protection sprays that will help keep your hair healthy at any department/drug store.

In a way it is like frying your hair but you can get lots of hair products called thermasilk at wal-mart that relieve most of that heat off of your hair so your not 'frying it'....try it and its not that expensive either. There is shampoo, conditioner, straightening spray, everything you could want..

Yes, they dry out your hair, try using something like Thermasilk leave in conditioner when you use a flat iron on your hair. It will give your hair added moisture and shine.
