It doesn't really matter to me. It seems to me if they like their name, whatever they choose, that's all that really matters.

Nothing is wrong with that. I am a Chinese too. It makes the non-Chinese life easier by having an English name.

i dont care for the assimilation so that one may fit in. if ones name is wong ming, then go with it. americans have to start accepting that not everyone is white and christian.

I always wonder why they do that. I would never "chinese-ize" my name for them, and I don't expect them to american-ize their name for me.
