This has reccently been troubling me. I know catholics believe there are degree's of sin. But christians don't, they believe sin is sin. And if you repent for those sins you are forgiven.

Now I do know that even christians agree that denying God is an unfogivable sin, so don't bring that up. And if you want your answer to be truly considered, give any biblical examples to back up your answer.

I'm not asking this because I think I have done something unforgivable. I am asking because it makes me kind of uncomfortable to think that rapists, murders and other ppl could go to heaven as long as they repent.

Ok what part of I already know that denying the holy spirit is the only unforgivable sin according to the bible don't some of you understand? I have read the bible, and will continue to do so. Maybe you all need to read the questions you answer BEFORE you answer them!

I am asking if YOU yourself belive that all sins are and should be forgivable!

Repenting has to be truley ment to even be considered to wash away the sin. So the only way a rapist or a murder would get into heaven is if he truly got down on his/her knees and prayed and asked forgiveness and really tried his/her best not to do it again. And like you said, sin is sin. I really don't know that it matters what the sin is. The 10 commandments didn't say okay don't lie but if you do you won't be sent to hell like if you murder someone. It just says these are the things you aren't supposed to do. Here are the rules, live by them. But I really believe that if you go to God and pray for forgiveness and really mean it, then, yes, all sins are forgiveable.

The ONLY sin that is unforgivable is in denying God and his son Jesus Sacrifice. An example of an unforgivable sin would be lying to the Holy Spirit, such as what Ananias and Sapphira did in Acts 5:1-10 where they sold an item and told the disciples that they got so much money for the item, when the holy spirit had informed the apostles about the lie. They both fell dead and by lying to the Holy Spirit will not receive a ressurection. (Matthew 12:31 and Mark 3:29)

However, all the other sins ARE EQUAL. The Bible says, "the soul that is sinning, it itself will die" and "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23) So suicide and murder, while horrible are paid for at the death of the person who does it. When you die, your sins are "paid" for according to the Bible.

The only unforgiveable sin is Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

No. The Bible is clear about rejecting the Holy Spirit. That is the unforgiveable sin.

All sin is forgiveable except suicide and blasphemy. When you curse the Holy Spirit it is unforgiveable.

The bible said there is no condemnation to those who come through Christ Jesus. The bible also said God is just and able to forgive all your sins and as far as the east is from the west so far has he removed our sins from us.

All sins are the same, there is none of greater degree. If you confess your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and savior you will be forgiven and receive salvation.

I as a Catholic believe giving up on God and dying in that abandonment constitutes the only unforgivable sin. I believe it is unforgivable because you gave up on Him and refuse to turn back. As long as there is breath in your body I believe you can be forgiven.

Yes, it only makes sense for every sin to be forgivable. Christ is full of forgiveness, mercy and love. Why not? Don't get me wrong, when we commit sin, we have to pay for the consequences!

For example, there were two thieves on either side of Jesus while they were being crucified. One obviously accepted Christ. The sinner was forgiven and will enter heaven! But the sinner still had to pay for his actions, hence his crucifixion.

The sins was the marketing tool for the Church to solve their economical problems since the 12th century, but the worst was in the Reform period, when the Pope was selling papers to save your soul. He wasn't an example of good behavior.

Not all sins are forgivable.

Luke 12:10-12
And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and [unto] magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
