I guess some people ( christians) just have a problem with truth, logic and reason. I actually thought your post raised some very good, well thought out points. Do you mind if I post it on a group I belong to ?

First, tell Yahoo! to back off until they actually investigate. Second, you did come off a bit snarky, but your points are valid. Third, most negative responses simply repeated what you questioned as an answer. I'm quite disappointed that there were few, if any, well structured responses. Simply saying "because the Bible tells us" is not a legitimate argument - especially if the question is "how do you know the Bible is the word of God?"

It always seems the "truest" believers are the least equipped to defend their faith, or even lack of faith. Anybody who says, "There is no God(s)" is being just as narrow-minded. And anyone who says, "there is no God but mine" is both narrow-minded and bigoted.

Although I do not believe in what you say 100% does not mean that you do not have the right to voice your opinion. I enjoy hearing a person's view on different issues. I truly believe I learn more by being open, listening and learning. I thank you for your comments. I do believe in some of them. I am like that. I am not a Republican or a Democrat. I am 48 years old --- I have my opinions based on what I believe are true regardless. Regardless of whether you are a Christian or not, Democrat or Republican (although I do tend to deviate from the radicals and everyone is becoming one lately). You did nothing wrong by voicing your opinion and I enjoyed reading it. You were not wrong no matter how I felt about your views or whether I personally agreed with them.

I'm sure Christians don't understand confirmational bias. If they'de only read a little Thomas Paine... :) I never have understood how you can throw all reason out the window and just "believe" in the face of overwhelming contradictory evidence. The sad truth is, they're going to ignore any evidence contrary to their beliefs... or just stick their fingers in their ears. I read your question and all your points make perfect sense, I guess that why they're trying to shut you up... somewhere a Christian might read it and say "Hey, wait a minute... ".
We need a club for sensible, logical, reasonable people who aren't afraid to "change" their opinions if "shown" the evidence. A Christian friend of mine actually told me "I don't know why anyone doubts the Bible, it's written history and you don't doubt your history books". Well, my history books don't contain spooky magic tricks and impossibe events that no one has seen since, and Oh yeah, it doesn't make ANY sense!
Good luck, loved your post:)

I had a feeling that was going to happen to you. How pathetic. It's so obvious what happens here. They can't answer a question so they report you so it will be removed so nobody can see the questions they can't answer. All I can say is you can start reporting everyone that tells you you will burn in hell, etc. That's a heck of a lot more beligerant than anything you ever said. Read the policy, you can report people for almost anything. This policy is clearly being exploited by them.

And people out here wonder why "blanket assumptions" are made about christians. I don't know what to tell ya man. I did say that the wording seemed a little harsh. But not necessarily inflammitory. Wow. I pity the people that reported you. I would even venture to say that they did not respond to the post, oh well. live learn and tone it down a little .

Subject: Love and Obey.

O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice
and be glad all our days.
( PSALM 90:14 KJV )

Dear Loved One,
God is a friend and companion for those who
love and obey His Word. For as king David said, THY
WORD IS A LAMP UNTO MY FEET, AND A LIGHT FOR MY PATH.
( PSALM 119:105 )

After all it is written; THE LORD HIMSELF GOES
BEFORE YOU AND WILL BE WITH YOU; HE WILL NEVER LEAVE
YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU. So why not spend a little time in
prayer with God each and every day. You will find
Him to be your very best Friend indeed! Amen.

I would now like to share a poem with you,
David. It is called.....

"My Unseen Guest"

God walks the trail with me each day,
He is my Friend, My Guide
However long or steep the road,
He's ever by my side.

He sits with me in evening's hush;
We speak, we laugh, we pray,
And my heart sings a joyful song...
He's never far away.

And through each dark and lonely night,
He's guarding from above.
In perfect peace, I rest secure
In His eternal love.

Poet, Lee Simmons

With My Love & Prayers,

David

I was going to answer that question, but you said it all, I am of the same mind. Even if I were not, you are entitled to your opinion.

Maybe a lot of people reported you; you know how "righteous and defensive" some Christians can be.

The only thing I see is that it is more of a tirade (though well - done) than a question.
