My friends and I are having a debate right now on whether a guy 8 years younger is worth dating or not. He is responsible, has plans for the future, and treats our friend better than any guy she's dated that is her age or older. He tries to protect her from past horrors in her life, and adores her like she was made just for him. I think they are absolutely adorable together. She is such a sweet person. She's been hurt real bad, and deserves to be happy more than anyone else I know. But some of our friends think she's out of her mind because he's so young. They are really giving her a hard time. What should she do?

Screw them. You love who you love, and that's the truth. She should be with whomever she feels comfortable, as long as she isn't being used. Just one piece of advice: The most known reason for a break-up is other people.

It is legal she is considered an adult so there isn't anything legally you can do to try and get him to stop. However, an 18 year old still is not really mature enough to handle a relationship involving a 32 year old. She is probably really excited about the attention she is getting from an "older" man and all that entails (such as a boyfriend with money, who can support her etc) and she isn't really looking at the relationship in the adult manner that your 32 year old friend is. It would be best if your friend and the 18 year old girl dated people a little closer to their own age.

You have to learn to live and let live! If she gets hurt, let it be, she needs to learn these things on her own without your orchestration goading her along. Whatever she wants should be fine with you. You cannot control someone elses life like that. I'm not trying to be nasty at all just trying to let you see what I'm seeing from a distance and from a distance weather she wants someone young or old, it is strictly her descion and nothing of yours. Let her be.

well i think he is a little young for her.But as long as she is happy with him thats all that matters. I would tell you're friends to shut up.and to stop giving her a hard time about her dateing a younger man.I mean after all she's the one dateing him not them.

She should do whatever makes her happy. No one else is living her life, so if no one is getting hurt and everything is legal, f*#@ what everyone else thinks or says.

A lot of people judge others because of their own insecurities, not because things are actually wrong.

I think so because that's a lot of age difference. I probibly wouldn't date anyone 3yrs older or younger. but if things are working out just dandy for you then don't worry about it.

you need to use the "half your age plus seven" rule to determine the minimum age you can date..she is 26, so half of that is 13 plus 7 is 20..so the answer is no...the lowest age she should date is 20

No it isn't. Age doesn't really matter, as long as there is chemistry between you two, then age dosn't really matter.
