Talking helps. Be polite to him. Ask an open question and never return a rude remark even if he says something mean to you. That gets any person's initial thoughts about you to change dramatically and very quickly.

Need a little more info... why is it that he hates you? Did you do something to him to make him feel this way or does he simply just dont know you?

Don't bother,he'll think you're desperate and pretend to like you and treat you like a piece of crap. Maybe he'll come around and realize what he's missing.
