I've been friends with this guy for a while, but recently I have developed feelings for him. Only problem is the age difference...almost 19 years. I'm 18 and he's 37, but neither of us act our age. Circumstances have forced me to grow up faster than I should have and he acts like he's in his 20's. I'm not looking to get married right now, but is 19 years too much to even consider a relationship?

So you are saying he is immature...My husband is older than me by 20 years, It was great years ago, now he never wants to do anything or go anywhere. He usually falls asleep on the couch about 8:30. And I am dealing with his 84 year old mothers problems. Is this something you can deal with 10-20 years from now or would you rather be living your life. Doing things going places, seeing your friends,etc.......... I am not trying to dissuade you, just think of the future.

In my opion thats a little too old. Because your still growing up. When you turn 21, your gonna want to go out and have a good time. You need to live life a lil before you commit to 1 person. You probably don't even know whats out there.

i don't think so because on t.v., this guy who was 16 married a 42 year old woman, almost 26 years difference, so i don't think 19 years is too much, because some people say
"age doesn't matter".

age doesnt matter - closeness in maturity does

that said in the longer term when you are 30 he will be hitting 50

so at your peak he will be an old man

go for it for now as it really doesnt matter but do weigh up how you might feel in the longer term too

maybe not a relationship. But casual dating wouldn't be bad. You are so young, and should be out there in the dating pool discovering what you do and don't like; and discovering yourself.

I suggest not making any commitments to this guy, but do have fun with him.
