we care for EVERY SINGLE soldier in our army. EVERY SINGLE fellow Jew. Why should we just shut up and let them kidnap our soldiers?! why should we just shut up and sit quietly while people are afraid to get on a bus or walk into a coffee shop?! why are we the ones who are supposed to live in fear every single day of the year because maybe someone we know was just kidnapped, wounded or killed??? the media makes us israelis sound vicious, mean, terrible to the arabs. no one can judge us. come live here for a while and then see what you think!

Yes, I certainly do. I have a certain belief, that those with the most power also have the most responsibility to be wise and thoughtful about their actions.

Power can come in many forms, but in the world theatre of nations, economic and military power reign over all others. By those measurements, Israel is astronomically more powerful than Palestine. In my view, it must then curb itself to a much larger degree, by restraining its activity, erring on the side of caution so as not to abuse its power and position in the world. Moreover, Israel has 100% backing from the most powerful nation the earth has ever known, the U.S. which makes its violence against the weak and impoverished people in their midst who do not even have a nation of their own, and cannot come and go as they please all the more despicable.

A measured and much less fanatical defense, rather than the terribly aggressive and racist policies of the current regime, would serve peace much better. The walls, which only serves as a incessant and monstrously passive-aggressive action in the faces of the Palestinians, are a good demonstration of the fact that the Israelis want peace much less than they want control.

Hell yes!
Israel gets all up in arms when they take a hit, but they do the hitting and killing at a much higher rate than the Palestinians do.
I myself don't have a horse in this race that I am pulling for, but I sure think this war is very dangerous for the world, not to mention the Middle East.
Israel has the fourth largest military in the world. They are not anyone to mess with, but the Palestinians don't yell uncle easily.
The Palestinians are hopelessly out gunned and out lead, but they are very dangerous because they are very willing to die for their cause.
Because of the potential for nuclear materials being brought into the area of Israel, I think it is a suicide pack between these two peoples.
If the Palestinians ever become completely devastated, I am afraid that a dirty Nuke is going to kill everyone, plus others in the world, along with the Palestine and Jewish people in the area.
Those people, both people, need to pursue peace while they have time. And, America needs to lead the way to Peace.

Aggression don't think excessive who started the bull? Hamas who wants to destroy Israel. Still Israel held back now the dummies Hamas take a soldier for hostage talk about dumb and head up butt, they prove it every day. There is no peace with nuts like that. Now they want concessions what a bunch of crap. Also remember they were voted in so the so called nation of Palestine is to blame also. Me don't care they asked for it. You make a bed you sleep in it.
P.S. I am not Jewish

Maybe their are. SO WHAT! Do anyone want to lay off the jets and the gunships just because the terrorist group Hamas doesn't have the sophisticated technology?
And another thing, Hamas wants to destory Isreal at any chance they get and they want stop until they do. So do you still want to lay off the "excessive aggression"?
You can't reason with a radical which these guys are. These guys are ruthless, even during a truce they still fire their toy rockets to kill as many as possible. And SOME CERTAIN PEOPLE call Israel the bully. I hope Israel takes out as many Hamas thugs as possible until they find that soldier.

While I sympathize with the Israelis trying to get their soldier back that does not give them the right to blow up Palestinian government buildings or major bridges or the only power station in Gaza that only makes the people who live there and are not terrorists angrier against Israel. They should try collecting intel and sending in special forces, before blowing the heck out of the place with artillery but that's my armchair general opinion

If you were surround by a group of people who want to completely eliminate you from existence. How aggressive would you be. I believe they are justified in there actions. I have seen how anti-Semitic many Muslims are and trust me Israel is in a very dangerous position. They can not show weakness or things could get very bad for them.

Isreal is not aggressive enough. They tried very hard to keep the peace, but every time they do, Hamas, Islamic Jihad (insert favorite radical fundamentalist muslim organization here) goes out and picks a fight. Isreal should go and drop kick the palestinians back to where ever it is that they came from in the first place.

Israel is aggressive because they want to protect their land and even expand on the pretext that the other territories belong to them. It is self-preservation and expansion, so they are attacking Palestine which is the only menace to their existence.

No. They're going after, and capturing and killing people who have publicly stated their intentions to destroy the state of Israel, and who have either taken actions towards that goal or supported those who did take action. That's not excessive at all.

Certainly. They're like the bully in the school-yard because they have the planes, tanks and everything else, all American made, and they use them with impunity. They do so because they know Palestine doesn't have the tools to make it a fair fight; if they did, we wouldn't continue to hear these horrific stories.
