Al Sharpton and Jessee Jackson truly need to just fade away. The media gives them way too much attention and they don't really DO anything except stir the pot.
Everyone is not going to boycott any oil company, so it's just silly to keep passing those emails on. I get money in my son's Upromise college account by buying my gas at Exxon/Mobil, so I'm going to keep buying my gas there.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson aren't the only ones. Bill O'Reilly of the O' Reilly Factor suggested it on his tv show recently.
Gas prices have continued to rise steadily sent we entered Iraq.
Why? The corporations that own and controlling oil production haven't been seriously affected, if affected at all.
Only the most minimal amount of Iraqians own or share oil profits.
And you can bet it's not them we're fighting. In fact by our mere presence in their country we've assured their continued control of their oil wells other wise threatened by the growing strength the toiliban was gaining thru drug trafficing?
Oil is a fossil fuel that lies layered (like meat on a sandwich) thru millions of years.
And what? It's stopped the decaying process that's produced it in the first place and is now, after less than a hundred years of useage, it's near depletion on a planet millions upon millions of years old.
And were asked to accept our useage is threatening its availability unless we pay more for it?
Paying more will make it more availabe?
Yeah,right.
Oil production obviously is even cheaper to pump than growing corn, wheat,or any number of easily produced, produce capable of producing alcohol which could even possibly be hydrogenated and made as a cheap, constant, clean source of energy. Unfortunately the energy giants....
The oil mega wealthy, are among the few that pull the strings that make us all dance.
They would prefer us to dance contently to music but if and when we should become tired and stop dancing, they are more than capable of getting our army and/or police to twist our arms until we don't feel so tired anymore.

I don't like Exxon but I don't know what good could come from boycotting them.
I haven't seen mention of this boycott. Are you sure you have the story straight? What is your source?
Al & Jesse - are they still around? I thought they had retired or something........maybe I was just hoping.

It's not Exxon that they are asking people to boycott. It is BP.

Al and Jesse should take the time to end racial tensions rather than coming up with theories that aren't even practical. They're just distracting us from the tasks they should really accomplish.

You think too much, and you can't think right.
Pragmatism is a skill and not a little one.
