The Bible says, "Be not decieved, God is not mocked..." (KJV)--Google it. Churches of the world potentially house some measure of corruption, but the Church that Jesus Christ told Simon Peter of was made of PEOPLE (not a building) who believe that Jesus is the Son of God and prove their faith through obeying his commandments (the greatest of which is to Love thy neighbor as thyself). It's a shame for Christians (especially leaders of the church) to engage in the hypocrisy of exemplifying sinful ways on one hand, while claiming to uphold Christ and condemning sinners on the other.

Most definately. It started when the bible was first put together as a single book. The bishops decided what gospels to put in it to "suit their needs". The true first accounting of Genisis and other works is now all metaphor and speculation. It has been reinterpreted so many times that no two bibles in a book store are alike. That in itself is a mockery of a "holy book". And a violation of the last line in revelations. Then there is the fact that christians worship a Jewish rabbi (jesus). He himself said "why do you worship me, it is my father that is divine."

Judging from the hypocritical TV ministeries, I would say yes. If one is really sincere, then I admire them. However, there are too many using the name "Christian" to further their own agendas.
Being a Christian means "Christ-like". How many people do you see who have those qualities?
The one TV ministry that angers me the most is the one where they put their hand on someone's forehead--supposedly "curing" them, and they fall. WHAT is that all about anyway? There was an investigation done with this particular minister, and it was found that the same people traveled with him to receive their "cures", and to me, there is a special place in hell for these charalatans.
I have thought of writing a book about this very subject.

Yes. Although christ is used for christianity, he did not write the bible.

I guess you have to take account of some of the lies in christianity and I feel even Jesus is being used for commercial purposes.

The bible may be a good book but it is not Jesus' work. I also find christmas which is supposed to be a religious time, has turned very very commercial and all about money

At christmas, as an outsider, I see Father Christmas more famous and prominent than Jesus.

I think maybe He has, in an unintentional way. If there is a God, how could He be anything like a human? How could He have a human son? How could we be created in His image, and how can a human name and pronoun (even a capitalized one) even begin to apply?

Still, I know one or two Christians who have, I think, really good views of God and the world, so I can't really generalize as much as I'd like to.

Christians are fallible. They will paint inaccurate pictures of who God is because of many reasons. "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap." [Gal. 6:7]

Sure, at times maybe, but humans are good at screwing things up. No one said we have to be perfect to be a Christian, but it seems like that is whats expected by atheists...

Probably not intentionally, but most certainly, yes.

It's a damn good thing God has a better understanding of humanity than humanity has of God.
