I have a friend that knows just enough about computers to be dangerous.. Some how he has saved a form into his blank document template in MS Works word processer. Now if he trys to create a new doc. either from the"file" tab or from the main start page in works suite he get this form. Does anyone know how to rectify this without uninstalling works and re-installing it?
Thanks

ijcoffins instructions should work, but here is another suggestion.

I have Microsoft Works 2000 version 5.0.

Mouse click on Start > All Programs > Microsoft Works > Microsoft Works

The screen that generally pops up is the Programs Page, its search corner is blue. At the Top under the View drop-down menu is a link to Tasks. Click on it and its search corner is Dark Red. There is a list of tasks you can preform, Letters & Labels, Newsletters & Flyers, Household Management, etc.

If you mouse click on each one a template form pops up. You click on START and a template pops up and you can use it to help you make your document.

There is also a History Link in the top area. Mouse click on this one and all the documents you have in the Microsoft Works Program show on screen. (History is in a Teal color)

If the document is on this list, right click and delete (or not). Or you can open a different document.

Sometimes the program starts up with the last document you were using. If that is the case click on file, a drop-down menu appears. Towards the bottom, just above exit, there is a list of recently viewed documents. Click on one of them and see if the screen changes to that document. If it does, click on new, or to be different hit the control plus the N together. This should get you to a new document.

If I understand you correctly you are saying. "Now if he trys to create a new doc. either from the"file" tab or from the main start page in works suite he get this form." This page comes up "in place of" the main start page? If this is the case, I hope you made a back-up disk before this happened. Because if you find this under Help > About Microsoft Works > Tech Support > "The manufacturer of your computer arranged with Microsoft to include Microsoft software on your computer's hard drive. The manufacturer installed the software so you could begin using your computer right away. If you have any problems or questions about using the software, you should contact your manufacturer." You may be SOL.

I Really Hope This Helps.

1st. save the data filled template with a new name.
2.nd.Remove all the data that you entered into the template and save it with the original template name.
Volia, you have your template back as it was in the first place.

No, notes do not carry a song. for sure you should always write "and in case you probably did not understand i became being sarcastic" yet then you definately can't see the persons reaction and that isn't any interesting.
