I believe the teacher (teacher should be in control here) should be polite but firm with the student the first time. Something like Joe/Jane you do know that type of language/behavior is not appropriate nor permitted please do not let it happen again.
If the child persists I would go talk with the Principal or the child's guidance counselor. If this does not work the next time it happens ask the child to follow you and go straight to the Principal's office. You have got to protect yourself. These kids do get crushes and most of them don't even think about the age difference or you losing your job or worse going to jail.
Our teachers today have to put up with so much trash from the kids and their parents. Parents do not seem to either care or know how to discipline their children today.

Schoolgirl and schoolboy crushes are fairly normal. What's important is not to encourage it in anyway. Act completely normal, avoid being alone with the student, and if it gets really bad, consult your resident guidance counselor who may either talk to the student directly or may give you some insight on how to handle the situation. Good luck!
