Im only 16 so please dont go off on me. In the christian faith, in the book of genesis when it talks about god creating the earth, animals, plants, heavens and so on and then it says he created man. Well where dinosaurs walking around with adam? Becasue if there are fossilized remains of dinosaurs that are millions of years old, they would have to be living during the same time as adam wouldnt they? Unless they had lived, become extinct and then god put adam on earth. But that wouldnt be right because on the 6th day of creation he created all other anilmals that were big, small, creep and crawl and he also created adam on the 6th day. So were dinosaurs around with adam? I dont know anymore. And if so, did they all die out before noah had to aquire two species of each animal to put on the ark because surely a dinosaur couldnt have fit. Plz explain as best as you can. Im so confused

Humans & dinosaurs did not exist together. Dinosaurs predate humans.

The bible is a book of mythology invented in 325 CE (ad) by a pagan Roman Emperor, based loosely on myths by unknown authors written at unknown times.

Genesis is usually dated as having been written between 1,000 and 500 BCE, but that's as close as anyone can get to narrowing it down. Which is a pretty wide range if we are referring to a book that is supposed to be "history."

You are really looking in the wrong place for answers. People on here don't always look up their answers, and instead give you opinions. Even scientists debate on whether or not carbon dating is accurate.
I don't know when - year wise- that dino's existed, but they obviously did. (Because Fred Flinstone had one!! LOL) But, I think they were just giant lizards. There is no way that from a few bones, that an artist can reconstruct their exact features. Think about it, in the time when men lived to be 900+ years old, I'll bet so did the lizards.... Now, as to whether or not they were on the ark-- we still have lizards today, they just aren't as big, but then neither are the people, and we don't live as long. The word Dinosaur means great lizard. Maybe Noah just took the little baby ones...Compact, easier to carry...
Now, all these people who are telling you that the Bible isn't real, are obviously not into archeology. Using the Bible as a reference, scientists have dug up remains of Biblical cities and such... Look it up for your self. You shouldn't believe everything you read on this site.
You are ultimately responsible for getting yourself to heaven, make sure you listen to God. And -- make sure it's Him. Keep seeking Him- the Truth, and you'll do just fine.

P.S. Anything aquatic wouldn't have to have been taken on the ark, and I am supposing- my opinion- that if God had wanted to make it so - after the flood, he could have put those type dinosaurs near one continent and the ark on another, then by the time those families repopulated the earth... Maybe the dinosaurs were dying out... Many explanations, I am quite sure that God will have a questions and answers session at some point -- if anyone is still interested.

The Bible mentions huge creatures in a few scriptures.

Noah could easily have stored dinosaur eggs and small living dinosaurs on the ark; the Bible does NOT say that all the animals were fully grown.

The Bible does mention animals on the earth at the time of Adam and Eve; it does NOT name the animals by type, breed, size, etc.. There is no reason to believe that the dinosaurs were not there at that time.

The Bible says a lot of things and is even more silent on many more topics. God told us what we NEEDED TO KNOW in the Bible in order to live as He desires us to; the rest is just coffee table conversation.

Carbon dating has been debunked more times than snake oil but it is the "science of choice" right now ; don't believe everything they force feed you in the secular humanist government indoctrination centers called public schools and college. They have been teaching revisionist theory for about six decades, especially the last three or four.

The THEORY of evolution is held up mostly by "scholars" these days. Most of what you learned in school has been proven false. True, honest, scientists will readily admit that they can't prove any of it; it has to be taken on faith. Interestingly, that qualifies it as a religion, but you won't see the ACLU chasing that dog!

The Bible does not provide specific answers to this question. According to the Genesis account, animals were created during the fifth and sixth creative periods or ‘days.’ If the Hebrew expression translated “great sea monsters” [Hebrew, tan·ni·nim′] includes dinosaurs, which often inhabited swampy, watery areas, this would mean that dinosaurs were created on the fifth “day.” (Gen. 1:21) We do not know whether they continued to exist until man was created (toward the close of the sixth “day”). At the very latest it seems likely that they must have disappeared off the earth at the time of the flood of Noah’s day. Dinosaurs were reptiles, and some kinds of dinosaurs bear strong resemblance structurally and otherwise to lizards (sauros is, in fact, the Greek word for “lizard”; saura in Leviticus 11:29, LXX). Not all types of dinosaurs were of such gigantic size. Hence, even if they had survived till the Flood, this would not have required taking pairs of the mammoth varieties into the ark. Other smaller members of the particular family or “kind” to which these belonged would have sufficed to fulfill the divine command.—Gen. 6:19, 20; 7:14.

Some of the older translations of the Bible at times use the word “dragons” to translate the Hebrew tan·ni·nim′ (“sea monsters,” NW). (Ps. 74:13; 148:7; Isa. 27:1, Authorized Version) The term “dragon” (Greek, dra′kon) is found in the Christian Greek Scriptures. It has been suggested as possible that, rather than having a purely mythical source, this expression may originally have been applied to enormous creatures such as the dinosaurs, taking on mythical tones only after these mammoth creatures had long disappeared. Interestingly, many of the mythical depictions of the “dragon” strongly resemble certain types within the family of huge reptilian creatures that includes the dinosaur.

Great question - You have to keep in mind that when God created the world and all that lived and this includes Man that Adam and Eve were not walking the earth but in a small part of it. The world is massive. God placed Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden and before they sinned were in perfection. As far as I know dinosaurs are not mentioned in the Bible does not mean they were not there. The Bible is not a complete history of the world but more like a tool of and for man. Now during the flood It could be that dinosaurs in their massive size didn't require protection like most land animals did. perhaps the flood was meant to wipe them all out for some reason. Like I said the Bible will not explain everything that happened and no one can give you an answer that can be proved. at best you will get opinions and nothing more. hope this helps.

2 Peter 3:8
However, let this one fact not be escaping Your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.
People have been taught that God created the earth in six literal days, but note the above. As for the dinosaurs, they were here before humans were, like millions of years ago. Adam was created a little over six thousand years ago. The animals we have now are what was created for Adam. There was a humongous gap of time between Dinosaurs and Adam & Eve.

Have you ever heard of Kent Hovind? He teaches about that stuff. His nickname is Dr Dino. Drdino.com. Anyway, When the great flood happened some theologians believe that there was a canopy(if you will) of water over the earth. This water fell during the flood. Lizards never stop growing. If the conditions were right, like having a canopy of water over the earth, lizards could then grow to large sizes. Take a look at the Jackson's Chameleon. If this creature grew for a very long time, you could see that it would look like a very familiar dinosaur. A tricerotops. ALSO the way that scientists PREDICT the age of things like fossils are with Carbon 14 dating. This simply is not accurate. Although that is not really the issue. PLEASE try to find information from Kent Hovind there are articles about carbon dating on his site as well and also go to answersingenesis. I hope that will help you.

The Bible is a book of faith---it is not a science textbook. The Adam and Eve story was handed down for a VERY long time in oral tradition before it ever got written down. It is a story that shows us that God loves us, that God is the creator and that we humans are made in his image and likeness. We share in his creation.

It was not written so that people can know more about dinosaurs. The people that wrote down these stories probably were quite unaware that dinos ever existed.....

You do not have to throw out good science to be a christian!

I wanted to add: Good for you for challenging things. Some people are so willing to go along with BAD science like young earth creationism to make things 'fit'. No one with any scientific, peer reviewed material actually believe that dinos and humans existed at the same time. Also---the other guy that said the Bible was not written until 300+ by a Roman Emperor doesn't know what he is talking about! The majority of the OT predates Jesus by hundreds if not thousands of years....and most Christians would NOT claim Genesis to be a 'history' book....

You asked, "Well where dinosaurs walking around with adam?"

The error you are making is that you are trying to use the Bible as if it were a scientific explaination of the evolution of life on this planet. The men who wrote the Bible knew nothing of science, or evolution, and didn't understand how you verify the truth of something.

They thought that belief and dreams made things true or could foretell the future.

We now know for certain that the Bible is NOT a reasonable way to understand life on earth. You can use it as a set of rules of behavior or a guide for going the right thing, if you must. But you shouldn't use it to try to understand science. Otherwise you end up going around in silly circles and never understanding anything.

well ill try here, first the bible says that a day is like 1000 year to God and a 1000 years is like a day. I truely believe that they walked the earth before God created man because it says that God created the heavens and the earth first, they may have been on the earth then , also it had never rained on the earth before it began to rain when Noah was to go to the ark, and they may have deceased then because of the rising waters, dont worrie about this too much , im 44 years old and i wondered about it for many years of my life its not worth it , there can be alot of unanswered questions you will have about the bible , if God wants you to know he would have told us in his word, its like a puzzle you try to put together sometimes , ty.

I am a former Christian. The sect I belonged to taught that the dinasours never walked on this earth. They believe that God took matter from other planets to make the earth and that these planets had the dinasours and fossils. Now, I don't believe this and I am no longer a Christian. I believe that the story of Adam and Eve isn't real. But that is one theory about the dinosaurs.
