My school is getting rid of our lockers just because some stupid 6th grader just HAD to have crack in his locker. I need reasons not to take out the lockers.

Here are some ideas...
- You shouldn't punish innocent people because of the wrong doings of a few (kind of like presumption of innocence/innocent until proven guilty.
- Assists kids with back problems/avoids carrying excess weight throughout the day for all kids
- Kids less likely to forget books for class (i.e. they can leave them in their lockers rather than needing to bring them home every night)
- Teaches kids responsibility (e.g. owning their own space, keeping it neat, etc.)

Down with lockers! Hey, I hate the things (I'm a teacher) I went through school without them. And I now teach in a school that doesn't have them. I agree. Students really don't need them. They are not that important.

Hey deal with it...when I was in boot camp in the Army and some Gomer Pyle screwed up guess who had to do 1000 push ups? yeah the whole freaking platoon. You're in school and there is NO democracy, not untill you get out to the real world. And if you can't deal with a minor pain in the *** now how the heck are you gonna handle the world...

start a petition.. to save the lockers.. get both the students to sign..maybe some of the school staff and maybe even some local politicians in your town..maybe compromising with your school's administration with a promise of signing honor contracts,, as your promise as students not to use them for illegal reasons.. then they could take away the offenders lockers if it happened again..? I hope you keep trying to find a compromise for your problem.. most people would just b*tch about it.. stand up for yourself and the kids who deserve better than that..GOOD LUCK

Start a petition. Let the school officials know that you guys are too petite to be carrying around tons of books. Trust me, they'd rather give you guys some other option than to get sued due to back injuries.

backpacks take up too much room in the school without lockers. it hurts your back and causes distractions in the classrooms wich can directly affect your education. use the last one..

quit complaining, i didnt have lockers when i went to middle school 2 yrs ago or now in high school

if they want to gaurantee that instruments and sports equipment , plus people's book and shool stuff wouldn't get stolen - all of which I had in my locker fine, but somehow I doubt that

If kids can't put their stuff away they'll carry backpacks around all the time, which will cause major back problems later in life.
