I just went through this. They towed my car without notice. Nothing I could do. I had to pay the fine, thankfully the tow truck driver took pity on me and didn't charge me.
Park your car off street if you will keep it unregistered.

Go to any Ca. DMV and request an extension..or you can just pay the ticket it probably wont be worth contesting since most people including the DMV records know when the registration is due. Whatever you do, take care of it either way or the ticket will go to warrant and you could lose the car and or go to jail.
Good Luck

Not getting a notice doesn't relieve you from the responsibility of renewal. Pay the renewal. Sure, you can contest the ticket, and they will dismiss it providing you can prove you already had the registration updated and displayed before they issued the ticket.

Update your registration and take the proof along to court with you. Chances are the judge will dismiss the ticket.
They usually have some sort of grace period during which time you can correct the problem and avoid the ticket.
Either way ... take care of the registration quick.

Usually if you pay the registration the ticket will be dropped. It is your responsibility to know when it expires. They usually send notice, but if you have moved they will not forward it.

Sorry. regardless of the indisputable fact that the actual incontrovertible truth that you probably did not signal the cost ticket does no longer make it invalid. Your signature in ordinary words signifies that you renowned a promise to look except you want to pay the cost ticket by employing mail. that's not an act of contrition in case you signal. regardless of the indisputable fact that that's not invalid in case you fail to signal. it remains a cost for an infraction of the automobile Code, (or different call for the same guidelines on your state.)the actual incontrovertible truth that you're a juvenile complicates concerns. yet when there is an same technique as my state (California), you're despatched a courtesy reproduction of the interest to look, and placing a date to look, in case you do not favor to placed up bail and forfeit it as a superb without extra court docket action. As you're anxious about the point on your using record, many states allow you to to request to attend a "site visitors college" application in case you haven't had a cost ticket in the former three hundred and sixty 5 days or 18 months (it differs from one state to a unique.) in case you attend the college, and pay a cost, then the cost is pushed aside, and also you haven't got the point on your record. appears like it extremely is unbelievable for you if , as you assert, that's the first cost ticket you have ever received. examine with the site visitors court docket on the handle on the cost ticket and inquire about that possiblity.

NO...you have to pay. All you had to do is look at your sticker to know that time's up. Ignorance is not an excuse. Now adays you can even pay online. That's what I do. You can get a lawyer and pay extra to keep it off your insurance. But, then, that's more money.
