Also are there any products that will help straighten hair that will make using the flat iron easier? My hair is really wavy and I want to make straightening it as easy as possible.

The absolute best flat iron on the market is the Chi brand, but they are pretty expensive (though well worth the investment!). However, there are several less-expensive options that work well too. I like the Revlon Perfect Heat flat irons a lot. They heat up quickly and have ceramic plates that don't damage your hair. Plus, they are only about 25 dollars!

You can find a lot of straightening iron choices at places like Wal-Mart or Target so that you can choose one that best suits your needs. Whatever your choice, I highly recommend that you pick one with ceramic plates.

As for products, Paul Mitchell makes a great product called Straight Works. I also like a product called Wind-down by John Freida.

My all-time favorite product is called anti-snap by Redken. It provides protection for your hair and makes it really smooth and soft.
