What is symptomatic of CNS problems in cats, and what could he be suffering from?
His head shakes and can not walk (staggers) and has very limited pupil dilation
help?

Sorry to hear about your cat. I hate to say or think this, but I wonder how wise it is for you to keep him alive? CNS problems are serious; they may include seizures, and they are not life enhancing.The vet bills could cost you PLENTY, and you may be keeping alive an animal that can't really enjoy its existence. Something to think about even as you love your pet.

Yahoo! Answers really is no substitute for a veterinary consultation. Something as serious as a nervous system problem needs to be dealt with RIGHT away. Also, severe ear infections can sometimes cause the symptoms you've listed, and that would also require a trip to the vet.

There's no way to diagnose this over the computer, especially without more information. Symptoms of this sort occasionally turn up in older cats in what's called idiopathic vestibular syndrome. Then again, not to be morbid, but it could be a brain tumor. You really need a vet to look at him.

vet! vet! vet! I dont know whats wrong with him but you should seriously consult a vet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
