I can't tell if you're serious or not, your tone seems a little joking, but you've actually touched on a serious topic. Believe it or not, poison ivy has been used as a medicinal herb. Poison ivy was used in the 18th century to treat herpetic eruptions, palsy and rheumatism. It is often used in homeopathic medicine as a sedative or for incontinence of urine, or for the creation of blisters. (Hmmm.....) The active chemical in poison ivy is urushiol, one of the nastiest substances around.

There was a kid not to recently who thought he should try smoking it... it killed him. Poison Ivy is deadly if ingested because it will cause swelling in the throat and cut off your ability to breathe. If you care to try this little recipe, be prepared to spend a lengthy and painful recovery at the hospital, if you live!
