I asked my 2 year old, "Are you telling the truth or are you lying?" He thought for a moment and said, "I'm a lion! ROAR!!" I could have died laughing.

On the 4th of July when my son was 2 and a half, I got up early and hung out the flag. Some time later, I heard my son get up and come downstairs. Then I heard the front door open. As I went to see what was going on, I walked past the stairs and saw a pajama top...pajama bottoms...underwear...Fearing the worst, I went outside. He was standing with his mouth open and eyes big, looking up at the flag in awe. Stark naked. By now, people were out driving by, and he was quite a hit on our block! I wish I'd gotten a picture!

There are so many things that come to mind, but my favorite was when my daughter was about 18 months old. We had gone to visit my parents and my mother brought her father over for dinner, he was 94 at the time. My daughter loves her Bigdaddy even though all he did was sit in the recliner and let her climb on him, no much else he could do at his age. Anyway, he started to doze off as my daughter began running over to the chair to sit in his lap again. She had one leg in the air ready to climb when she noticed his eyes were closed. She stopped and sllloooowwwly put her foot down, backed away from the chair very carefully, put her finger over her lips and whispered, "Shhhh Bigdaddy's Sleeping." It made me cry because it was so sweet and sensitive of her.

I realized I need to watch what my son watches on TV. One day I caught him saying "no deal, no deal' after watching Deal or No Deal on TV. So now when I tell him what we're doing I say deal or no deal & he answers me. It's quite funny.

My son has a very good memory (considering he's 2) for characters on TV & in books. The other day I was letting him watch Bob the Builder while I was doing laundry. I hear him talking, when I get closer to him, I realized he was naming each character including their color (ie orange Dizzy, green Roley). It was so funny! So I started asking him who's that and he knew all including Bird, Pilcher (sp?), & Travis. I was so proud.

When my son turned 2 we were petting our cat Tigger & I said "you love Tigger, don't you" & he said "and mama." I cried! The next day he said "love mama" again I cried. At the time he was still delayed so him saying new words was a huge deal! He's caught up very quickly in the past 7 months where we say new words everyday now.

I'm not a mom yet, but I was in the doctor's office the other day, as were a mom, her friend, and her little boy who was about 2-3. The mother's friend turned to the little boy and said "Is the stork going to bring your mommy a baby?" And he said, "no, a TURTLE!" :) I thought that was pretty cute.

Well, it's not too cute but was hysterically funny! When my son was 2yrs old we were taking a walk round our local cathedral and he started swearing in Dutch. Luckily only my parents and I knew what he was saying even though he didn't have a clue!

My 6 year old step-daughter was with us one weekend I had to work nights and help cover a shift at my job. Well, I went to her and told her "good night" (at 8am, hehe) and she asked me why I was going to bed, I told her I had been up all night and had to go back to work later on and needed some sleep. She then asked me why I had to work..well, I explained why and she puts her hands on her hips, cocks her head to the side and says "Well, what about spending time with your family?? Isn't THAT important??"

It was sooooo cute ... and I felt soooo guilty, hehe.

When my son was four, I was trying to get him to sleep on Christmas Eve. I told him that Santa was watching and if he didn't go to sleep there would be no presents. I thought it worked and went and laid down. About 10 minutes later he was screaming in his room... I ran in there and he shouted "I am scared..Santa was in my window and he was watching me"
