Its no longer MAC, it is now AMC, for Air Mobility Command. There are very few instances when a dependant can fly without their sponsor, such as when they are Command Sponsored (at an overseas location) on Environmental Morale Leave. A child must be at least 12 years old to fly unaccompanied, but there are certain rules. Call your nearest Air Force Passenger Terminal for more information.

with only a few exceptions, Family members may only fly Space A while with their sponsor. Those exceptions include to and from an OCONUS location only.

I think you can only take them if you're actually in the military, not a dependent. If you are in the military than you should be fine.
