once transmitted (if possible), does the virus turn into genital herpes (hsv type 2) and can it resurface on the genitals at a later time?

Yes it's possible. I get coldsores and I managed to pass it to an ex through oral sex when I didn't even have a coldsore.

It doesn't change to HSV type 2 upon transmission though... type 1 is a lot severe and that's the type that is transmitted.

No, he must insert his member into yours, to give you herpes simplex A, aka, vanarial herpes. Oral sex ie: cunnalingus, thats a man going down on you with his mouth, safe as long as he didn't just go down on a girl that has the same ailment. You going down on him, called fallatio, you can get them in your mouth!!! True story. So my best advise as a nurse, dont have sex with someone who has any type of disease! Whether it be oral or coitus (real sex), its not a good idea. Sincerely you should practice safe sex always. Men and women lie about their afflictions usually after you have already had sex. Be sure, no first night sex, or even 10th date, unless he has a paper from his Dr. That states he is clean. Otherwise you are taking your own life in your hands. Do you want to have 30 seconds of pleasure ( approx. time of orgasm) so you can die a horrible death. Put it this way how much do you want to live? Do you want to take a chance with your life. A gun is quicker and is instantanious, AIDS could show up as late at 17 years after the experience. Have some self respect. How invested are you in this person? How much is your life mean to you. Do you want to be healthy in 17 years, or dying of AIDS related disease. Most people think that AIDS kills, it does not, It caused you to get other diseases, like cancer, or pneumonia and that kills you not aids. So think about this and think hard. Live or die, Respect yourself, and others will respect you. And by the way, If someone has herpes and wears a rubber, thats no guarant ee that you wont get them. Its also no guarantee you wont get pregnant either. Again how much do you love and respect yourself. God Bless and good luck, Sincerely Rev Susan S, RNPH, ACS and councelor.

My best friend has had genital herpes for about eight months now, and it's been really rough. She's had about 7 outbreaks. Everywhere I read it says it stops flaring up so much after time, but its not getting less frequent for her. She's been on Antiviral meds the whole time, too. She also has type 1 diabetes which she has had her whole life, which really weakens her immune system. Will it ever get better?

But after a friend share this video everything has changed.

I think the sore has to already be present and open to spread the herpes virus. You could check with Planned Parenthood they carry all the info on STD's.
