What's really weird is some experiments I read about awhile back that they think plants MAY indeed feel pain. I'm not sure how that is feasible...but they had electrodes hooked up to plants and the measurements went haywire when the plant had a leaf torn off and all. Very interesting. Even though plants aren't like animals...they are alive, so it wouldn't surprise me any if it was true.

There was a scientific experiment where a man came and chopped a plant violently in front of another plant. Both plants were connected to electrodes. Afterwards the chopped plant was removed and a series of people entered the room. When the chopper re-entered, the energy output of the watcher plant rose. It would indicate that plants are somewhat aware, feel empathy at least, and maybe suffer.
Is it possible to prove pain? Even in humans? I mean, other than asking the person or observing. Is there a machine that can prove pain?

Plants do not have brains or a nervous system, they could not possibly feel or interpret pain. If we were harvested I'm sure that would probably hurt a little lol.

They did a study some years ago. It involved hooking plants up to a kind of plant lie detector machine thing.. They then proceeded to be loving to one plant and then mean to it. They would talk gentle and nice to it and then talk about burning it and lighting a match and such..

Well, The plants had activity when the match was being lit and the meanness done to it. It was clearly visible that the plants reacted to it`s environment..

So I think it probably does.. So much for vegetarians... LOL

God bless & hugs from Texas..{:-)

Plants don't feel pain. That sensation requires the existence of a nervous system, which plants do not have. Without nerve impulses, they can't feel anything at all, or think, or be aware of their own existence.

Research done in the late 60s with a polygraph machine indicated that plants could not only feel fear, but seemed to have link (like what you might think of as a psychic link) to their owner.

it comes down to if the plant is self aware....i don't think things that are not self aware feel pain....no brain activity....no brain at all really....pain is a result of electronic pulses being sent to the brain...so no..plants don't feel pain
