Audacity, and LAME?

I'm using Audacity to make audio recordings, but when I put "export as mp3" I asks me to find LAME, I already installed LAME 3.96 but it's an installer and it doesn't work.
I'm using the mac os x version
please help me, this is very important, points involved.

after installing lame encoder, go its installation directory and locte the file similar to enc_lame.dll and when audacity asks for LAME, browse to this file. Best of Luck...Byee....
