Most of the time, when a guy hurts a girl he loves (or the other way around, which is just as common), it's because he's really not very mature and hasn't learned how to behave in a relationship.
Part of the reason we date when we're teens is to learn how. You aren't born knowing how to ride a bike or drive a car ... and dating isn't at all different.
He didn't hurt you on purpose ... he made a stupid mistake because he doesn't know any better. The whole world is happening so fast for him (and you) that he doesn't always take the time to think before he does something.
If you think, even just a little bit, that he did whatever it is on purpose and meant to hurt you ... run, do not walk, as far and fast as you can.
I think, though, it was probably because he's learning. Like you. Talk to him and maybe you can both learn from it.
Good luck!

No Honey, he doesn't, and if you believe that someone who hurts you loves you, then you need to give your head a shake. Even if he says that he does, he doesn't know himself because true love does not manifest itself in hurtful behaviour, and he is just saying the words to keep you in tow. This is not the person you should be with, and you may have a self esteem problem if you continue to go back to someone who behaves that way. Ask yourself this question....When was it you were told, or decided that you weren't worth better treatment than that? Was it at home watching dysfunctional parents mistreat each other? That's usually where it starts.

Guys aren't complicated. Don't try and make excuses for him. If someone is hurting you, they probably don't love you the way you think they do. How do you know he loves you? Because he said so? Love is an action... and actions speak louder than words.
Oh yeah, and don't rule out that some guys think it is funny to play with a girl's head... Don't give him that power.

A real gentleman would never hurt a woman / girl physical or emotional. If he hurts you he really does not love you , he might tell you he loves you , but love is just a word real love is shown . P.S. Get Rid Of Him Now While You Still Can, Before It Gets Worse. "GOOD LUCK"

Love isn't enough. Just because someone loves you doesn't excuse them from any responsibility for treating you well. So what he loves you? He hurt you, lose him. Unless you want to be hurt over and over again.

They hurt the ones they love becasue if they didnt love someone it wouldnt hurt! Confusing huh? Let me explain a little better. I cannot hurt you because I do not know you or love you. You could careless what I do or dont do. It only hurts when that person loves you!!!!!

You're generalizing all guys here over one asshole who dumped you like a coward? Get a grip and stop lumping guys into one group. Not all guys are out to hurt girls my dear. And very few actually like to do it.

Because they are not with the ones they don't love so they can't hurt them.
