Just so you know, that whole method of categorizing Christians comes out of Sociology of Religion, a field that was developed by Protestants that were trained in the scientific method, which included evolution methodology. Now days, the science continues to use such terminology. So it is not surprising at all that such terminology is used because it comes out of a scientific view interested in categorizing based on evolution methodology and not how religion categorizes such things.

The Catholic Church doesn't see things that way at all, btw. Everything is based on how the group relates to the Catholic Church.

You're very right. Religion is evolving with man when man should be adapting to it. God has changed. Christianity was created from Judaism. In fact, they share many of the same stories. But, Christianity came later.

The story of Noah's ark exists in ancient Babylonian culture with slightly different names and events. That suggests that this was not a story that someone documented for the Bible. It was some event talked about for many years that probably has no resemblance to what someone created and was put into the book.

Religion is evolving. Human beings are changing the rules as it pleases them. But, thankfully so. We don't need Christians condoning slavery, rape, and killing - like in the Bible. We don't need the oppression of women that exists in documents clearly created at a time in history when Men had all the rights and Women had no place except as objects of beauty and child-bearing.

are you referring to the succession from there being light to man's creation? if so, i believe that "creatures that move along the ground" come before "Birds that fly above the earth and across the expanse of the sky" in evolution. where in the bible it is the other way around. And if anything, evolution is following the creation story as it is thousands of years older than Darwin and his ideas.

It is funny. They keep losing little useless appendages as the "selective pressures" of civilization require it. For example, we we seem to have lost the urge to have adulterers stoned to death by the community. (Well, most people have lost the urge - there are throwbacks.)

Who knows? Maybe in time they'll develop the theological counterpart to the opposable thumb.
