A "rich" color will only succeed in making your kitchen look smaller than it appparently already is, that is if the color is dark. You might want to change the cabinet color and go lighter on the walls. Either that, or choose a deep melon color or something along that line; a harvest gold could work but again, you would have to change the cabinet color to something else, as beige would not look good with either. Why don't you consult someone at a home improvement center. Take a look at some decorating magazines for ideas.

If I were you, I'd think about colors I like. Then go to a paint store and get some sample strips. Hold those up to you cabinets and see what looks best. You didn't mention appliance or floor color. You'll want to consider those as well. If your kitchen is small, you might want to think about a lighter color to help open it up. You can find a rich shade in just about any color. But really you'll be better off if you base your choice on a color you already like.

I would go with a deeper red. It really depends on the tone of the beige. If it is darker go with a less deep red, if they are light go for a really nice deep red. It will look great. I think lowes.com has a section where you can look at certain colors and then their complimentary colors.

What colors do you like? Think of those colors and the other colors in th room. (floor, drapes) Go to Lowe's and try the new computer that helps put colors together. And don't be afraid its only paint, you can always change it.
