If a dog has an infection in the body, he would be running a fever. The fever would cause him to be lethargic and not want to eat or drink. With a kidney infection, your dog would be on the ground. You would notice that he doesn't feel well(with the symptoms above), not just him staying close to you. Check to see if his ear pinna's (flaps) are hot, you can tell if he's running a fever that way. If he's normal every way else, I wouldn't worry about it. The 6 main things you look for in a sick dog are is he eating, drinking, deficating, urinating, lethargic, or vomiting. Sounds like he's only got one of those things. I would wait till I see a couple more symptoms till you start worrying.

Take him to the vet, he probably does have a blockage or an infection. It is good that he is drinking and everything, but if you let it go, then it may get to the point to where he isn't by then it might be too late.

Are his eyes dialated at all? If you have noticed he isn't urinating he could have a urinary infection, which can be fatal. If you are concerned take him to the vet!!!!

Don't waste your time asking idiot teenagers on Yahoo for animal medical advice.

I would suspect that he's not feeling well. Take him to the vet. They will run tests and determine what is wrong and treat him accordingly. This is his way of telling you he's ill.
