I've heard of using ammonia, clove oil and a couple other things, but they don't work.

Please do NOT mention going to a dentist in your reply. I'd rather be in pain for the rest of my life and lose every single tooth in my mouth than sit in a dentist's chair again.

Pulling the tooth myself is too dangerous as if I were to make a mistake and break the tooth or crack the root in half, it'd be stuck deep down inside my gumline and still be painful and infected. I need a chemical to put into the cavity itself to kill the nerve so the pain will cease.

Dentists use pure arsenic to kill the nerve, but unfortunately, I'm fresh out.

Please do not mention going to a dentist in your reply. I'd rather lose every tooth in my mouth and be in pain forever than EVER sit in a dentist's chair again.

I myself would not go to the dentist unless I had no other option, but you do so settle down. Call your local herbal shop as soon as you can and explain your problem to them, they can help you.. If you can get some ibuprofen 800mg. or something similar that will help until you get ahold of an herbal personnel in your area.

Go to the drugstore (or if you are lucky, send someone for you!) and get some of the products used to help babies as they are teething. I know it sounds weird, but there are gels that you can put right on the gums or on the tooth, and they do help. Also, pick up a tube of Sensodyne toothpaste - it'll help as well. And an old wives tale, that seems to work, is to prepare a small glass of warm salted water with a litttle white vinegar in it, and rinse your mouth. Rinse all around the area. There is a product called aspergum, but I don't think it will help you. You know, one other thing might help, and it has to do with your sinus cavities -- mine rest too low and sometimes make my teeth hurt. If you are congested, it can cause a problem with pain too. Then if the pain cannot be controlled, be prepared for a root canal. It's expensive, time consuming, but sometimes it is the only answer. If the pain gets too bad, call the dentist right away and have him look at it. I had a root canal that bothered me for years -- and when it was redone, they discovered a small stick had been left in the canal. Dentists can do root canals, but I would never have one done there. Go to specialists -- a dentist may do 10 root canals in a year, but a specialist will do that many in a few days. The skills really show when your teeth no longer hurt.

Dentist use clove oil, and it does help but only if the nerve is exposed. I have heard of people using hard liquor but I haven't tried it myself. There is a product you can get to fill the cavity and it really helps. The cavity will only get worse though no matter what you use without a dentist. Get drunk and pull it. The sooner you do it the better off you are since as the tooth decays it weakens and becomes more likely to break. My husband hates dentists too. He has applied bleach then pulled it.
Good luck, Toothaches are the worst pain in the world.

Does anyone know how to intentionally kill the nerve in a tooth to stop a toothache?

Clove oil will kill an exposed nerve for sure! it takes a few treatments thou. i left it on my tooth for 45 min.(way too long) and it hurt even worse. i think it was because oil was on my gum's (probobly shouldnt do that). i just sucked on an ice cube and applied ice to my tooth and gums for about an hour till it calmed down. the next day my tooth nerve pain was gone. i'm still going to get a crown for my broken tooth but now i can wait for a few months until my dental insurance kicks in.

I don t want any teeth in my mouth! I m intentionally letting them wear down and I will eventually have the rest of them pulled and replaced by immediate dentures... It s what I can do without real teeth that motivates me to do this ;) I can hardly wait!

BLEACH is a dangerous toxin and should NEVER be placed into any persons mouth. Chlorine bleach is deadly. On contact with animal cells it produces dioxins (DIOXINS cause cancer). When in contact with plant materials it produces PCB's (which also cause cancer).

are you freakin kidding me? first off, i've never used arsenic on a patient. dentistry is not an amature activity.

you need to go to the dentist. just pay the extra and have them put you under so you don't remember anything.

and stop being so dramatic. you are the one who didn't take care of your teeth and now you are a funk mouth.

You can get a pair of forceps and extract the tooth yourself.
