The restaurant is in Padstow in Cornwall. It's gorgeous and therefore always busy - so book in advance. In fact the whole of Padstow gets packed during the Summer now, mainly due to the success of our fish-loving TV chef (and due to the fact that Padstow is a beautiful place to visit...)

If you plan on making the trip down, here's a few tips for you:
- book in advance
- you can always enjoy a (cheaper) taste of Rick Stein by visiting his famous Fish and Chip shop next door. Pricier than the average chipey, but the choice of fish and the quality of the serving are untold... it's the plaice (sic) to go! If you're prepared to queue for a while, you can collect a hefty portion and enjoy if somewhere quieter in the harbour.... but watch out for the big seagulls!
- as you would image there's also a very popular Rick Stein gift shop with all sorts of delicacies to bring home.

- you can hire bikes nearby and cycle along the wonderful coastline (search for bike hire near padstow) - a great way to build an appetite.
- and why not take a trip round the Padstow bay in one of the organised speed boat trips - great fun to get some wind in your hair!

Enjoy

Pad-stein... sorry, Padstow in Cornwall.

You'll need to book a hell of a long way in advance for the Seafood Restaurant, but if you're only looking a week or so ahead try Rick Stein's Cafe - which is simpler and cheaper but still damn tasty food.

There's also the fish and chip shop (the mussels always sell out first... try gurnard, it's great), the patisserie/coffee shop, the B&B&Bistro, the cookery school, the souvenir store with signed/pawed Chalky prints...

yes and Ive been there, well worth the money - lovely restaurant, good food, and the waiters and staff are really friendly and helpful. Not at all snobby, which i was kind of expecting.

Its on the harbour in Padstow. Well worth a visit, if you can get a table! I booked 5 month in advance and they only had two available times the week I wanted.

Padstein as customary by employing the locals - has dissimilar shops of his - he quite is taking on the village. We had some acquaintances who stayed at his hotel in Dec and have been awoken by employing the sound of breaking glass - each window interior the conservatory grew to become into smashed - he's not cherished by employing the locals
