So, we are supposed to be a forward thinking, evolved species. So why are we supposed to do what god tell's us to?!
Back in the bygon ages people didn't wait until they were married to have sex. In Africa before the West took Christianity with them they had sex to procreate - as all animals do, they didn't have to have a ceremony.
If god created us all, he's created Gay people - so why is being gay wrong to a Christian?! It's not a personal choice, it's who they are.
Those who are brough up in a country where the major religion is not Christianity, why should they be punished for not having access to the 'teachings'? They are not believers...
Not allowing Condom use (Catholic) is inhumain for 3rd world nations. Did god tell the Catholic church that it's better for thousands of people to die? Women who have been rapped and been given aids or received blood transfusions have a right to have sex, why shouldn't they? But they can protect others too!

God didn't say these things, drugged up zealots and fundamentalists did. Until some booming voice calls to me from the heavens and a big finger points at me (prolly saying "It could be YOU!"), I ain't listening!

A few years ago the catholic church had a debate about whether they should allow the use of condoms after saying for years it was against gods will so what they were saying is "we think God may have made a mistake" why should we listen to the wolrds biggest pedophile ring, the catholic church. Look around you. you know whats right just try to make the world a little better for everyone around you and don't sweat the big stuff just do what you can. if you need someone to make you feel bad all the time and to tell you how to live your life don't turn to the church. Get married!!!!

Are we truly animals my friend?
God didn't create gay people. Gay people created themselves...think of it. Did God mad ethem gay or did they choose to have sex with the same sex. God made them natural....they chose the other way
What do you mean by punished? I mean There will be a time when EVERY MAN will hear the gospel a tleast once. It's in God's plan.
Not allowing condom use is bad yes. But also, children are a source for blessings...of cours eto a non-believer children are just a pain in a back sometimes, but God can really bless you through them. And you can turn off the blessing by 1. Not having sex 2. using a condome .....it' the catholic church's decision not to let the use of condomes.

Before just spouting off a list of things you think God has said, and why it's bad for society, you should research 2 things:

1) What does God actually say (read Bible)
2) Is there a negative impact of following what God says. Plenty of online resources on whether say, Christian relief organizations exacerbate the AIDS epidemic in Africa or help.

You're making a lot of assumptions. Take a deep breath and do some actual research, if you're really interested in answers. Or continue to bark away like a nut on a street corner.

There are several parts to your question, and I will attempt to answer them one at a time.

Firstly, you should obey God because He knows what is best for you and wants the best for you. Even beside that, He died for you so that you could know him, so its kind of your moral duty.

Secondly, true homosexuallity is debateable. You will find that the VAST majorty of people who say that they are gay are victims of sexual abuse of some kind or the other. The rest will say that they were "experimenting". There are also studies surgesting that those boys bullied at school search for male appreciation in the form of gay relationships.

Those who do not have access to christian teachings of any kind will be judged differently. It says in the bible.

Finally, disallowing condom use occurs NOWHERE in the bible. Anyway, why should someone listen to the church's words about condoms when they don't listen to their words about sex before marrage? It just doesn't make sense.

I hope this clarifies some issues.

Regards

Please note that God has given us instructions so that we may lead happy, peaceful, prosperous lives and not so that we are denied basic necessities, enjoyment etc. Also, do not for one moment think that God wants anything from you, since everything belongs to Him anyway.

Your lines and reasoning and questioning seem a bit confused so we should really start with a fundamental understanding of what sex is for. Sex produces offspring - generally speaking. The Hindu scriptures advise sex for procreation only. Procreation itself is not to be confused for breeding like rabbits - which a lot of catholics do. The Hindu scriptures advise that couples should only procreate if they can sufficiently support their offspring and especially if they can guarantee their education in the spiritual knowledge. This is why there is a marriage ceremony which is essentially to request God's blessings. The scriptures even advise on prayers before the act of procreation.

If you don't really know the conditions in Africa, then you should understand that Africans generally have a very poor regard for their females and they generally treat them like crap - objects for sexual conquests. I fail to see what condoms or any other contraceptinves would really achieve in this state of ignorance. What they require is common sense not condoms.

I do not agree with the scientific thinking that gays are born with a gay gene. Various scriptures state that future generations will suffer as a result of acts by the parents, so we can deduce from this that genes could mutate to accommodate the desires / actions of parents / grandparents etc. The Hindu scriptures inform us that whatever state of consciousness we die in is carried forward into our next life (this explains why some animals have gay tendency too).

In the Hindu tradition women are meant to have a higher standing even than the king and only in recent times due to degradation over time and also due to various invasions by muslims, british and others. The Hindu scriptures describe four divisions of society but women are given a special class of their own, i.e. they are above the normal classes of society. The muslim religion on the other hand is entirely male dominated where women cannot even have a say in their government, religion or society. The Christians are having on going arguments whether to allow women clergy - even in the new testament it is stated that women should not even ask questions in church!

By sincere reading and understanding of scriptures we can see that what God advises us to do is for our benefit only. For example, science has proved that humans can live healthy lives on vegetarian food and also that the amount of grain fed to animals could easily solve all famine problems - the Hindu scriptures are the only ones where vegetarianism is prescribed as a norm. Science has also shown that excess consumption of red meat can lead to over aggressive behaviour - yet the one thing that is promoted over and above anything else is - you guessed it burgers!! Do you even know how much destruction of the rain forests is caused by mass animal rearings specifically for the burger industry?

There are many other examples of God's instructions which if you try to understand will provide sufficient proof of God. God is not some material object which can be measured by our puny scientific instruments. Our most powerful telescopes can hardly see the extent of our universe. Our most sophisticated microscopes can hardly detect the tiniest organisms - how do you think they will measure God?

Coz he's pretty smart and I'm pretty dumb? He knows stuff I don't.

But I think you are asking the wrong question. It should be how do we know what God says. He's not the only one talking, you know.

All that other stuff you list, did God really say that and if he did say any of it what exactly did he mean by it?

Before you can do what God says, the hard part is finding out what he's saying right now today to you -- not some other person four thousand years ago in another country.

Are we evolved? Are we forward thinking? People live for the moment, they always have. If you have read the bible and believe it then you will know why we should do what god says. He created us and allows us to be sustained. He gave us a free will and suroundings that give us pleasure as well as being functional. We live by certain laws automatically. Gravity, time etc. Just be careful about ascribing what religious leaders do as being gods will. Gods will can only be founf in the bible.

To answer your question directly, we as individuals have limited knowledge. Some people know things that others do not know. GOD has the sum of ALL of our knowledge and then some!!! It is only wise to listen to HIS words because it is always for our best.

I would wager that all the research in the world will never prove that gay people are born that way. The same way that it cannot be proven that alcoholics are born to be alcoholics.

I'm not Catholic, therefore, I do not believe that sex is reserved strictly for procreation. However, I do believe that sex is reserved for one partner(heterosexual) with whom you have committed the rest of your life with.

Dude lay off the pipe, and think straight. Just as HE created different races, He created different beleifs . If you look at most religions closely you will see they are not all that different, they all require faith and worship a "higher power" be it a man or other figure. So it all boils down to this. Without something to believe in , You have nothing. What do you believe?

God hasn't told any one this. Don't think that Christians or any other religion have some kind of telephone asking God " Is this right...?" they don't. God doesn't tell us what to do. Religions have guidelines to live, in most cases by their own authority and not God's. If you want to know what God will say to you, listen. And you will hear from God, not a man in a pulpit.
