peacocks dont lay eggs, so if yours did get it quick.wherever he laid it, biologists will want to know all about it, should be worth a few bob

As far as I know, property line based ownership of animals applies only (at least in the UK) to game, such as game birds, animals and fish. For example, if a pheasant wanders on to your land, then it is yours. If a salmon swims into your stretch of river, it is yours. Equally if your pheasant wanders into next door's garden, it is theirs, as is your wild bunny. However, peacocks (or peahens) are not game birds, and so normal rights of property ownership apply. If the peacock goes next door, it is still your peacock. I see no reason why this should not apply to the egg. Good luck grabbing it back, though! Try and do it while your hen isn't looking!
