Homosexuality is not greater or lesser a sin, however it is still a sin. People say that Jesus did not speak about it, however he did say obey the father in heaven. God's word throughout the bible is against any type of sin including homosexuality. People say they were born this way, that is nonsense. You are not born this way, it is a choice. When the idea comes to mind to sleep with a person of the same sex, it is a choice to sleep with that person. You were not forced into it. You were given the freedom of choice and the choice is to sin and commit homosexuality or chose not to and fight the feelings.
How can this be normal, if it were normal, shouldn't two men or two women be able to give birth? I guess the next question is what about those who prefer animals, I guess they were born this way too? NO, we were born with our physical characteristics, everything else is a choice to do or not to do.
It is in the new and old testaments, it is a sin.

Romans 1
24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Well, as you ask that, ask yourself if you've ever worked after sundown on Friday. The Bible requires you be put to death for that (Exodus 35:2).
Ever wear a polyester blend shirt?
The Bible says that's a stoning offense. It's specifically forbidden to wear clothing of more than one fabric (Leviticus 19:19)... and that elastic band in your underwear counts.
Speaking of Leviticus 19, have you ever planted a little garden in your back yard? Maybe some carrots, a few tomato plants, some radishes and lettuce? You deserve to die for that, too. Leviticus 19:19 demands you be killed for planting more than one kind of crop together. For that matter, it really doesn't specify that it has to be a "crop". Those mixed wildflower kits for flowerbeds which are so popular these days fit the "mixed seed" bill.
Are you a woman or do you live with one? You don't allow her anywhere near you or your house while she's menstruating, do you?
The Bible says you're not allowed to do that because it's unclean (Leviticus 15: 19-30 and Leviticus 20:18).
What about your house? You paid for that with cash, right? You're not allowed to mortgage it, you know. The Bible specifically forbids usury (Deuteronomy 23:19).
Thank God you don't put up a Christmas tree and decorate it... the Bible forbids the practice of cutting down trees, bringing them into your home, and decorating them (Jeremiah 10:1-5).
On the other hand, I have a little girl and I know there are some men interested in buying her as a slave. The Bible says I'm perfectly within my rights to do that (Exodus 21:7), and you can't throw a fit about me taking that view of slavery... the Bible says you're full of conceit and know nothing if you object to me having slaves and selling off my daughters into slavery since I'm following God's law here (1 Timothy 6: 1-5). Not only can I sell her off, but as long as I make sure to sell her to a nice God-fearing person, she's supposed to be happy about being a slave. It's the Godly thing to do.
Plus, I need her out of the way because my brother just died but he left no children behind, so I've taken his wife as mine to make sure she gets pregnant. The only problem is, she didn't want to marry me.
Do I really have to listen to her complain about the fact I've taken her as my wife like the Bible says I'm supposed to (Deuteronomy 25: 5), even though she really doesn't want to be married to me?
She keeps complaining that she doesn't want to have sex with me, but the Bible says she's supposed to serve me, doesn't it (I Peter 3: 1)? And in any case, the Bible demands I have sex with her until we produce a son (Deuteronomy 25: 5-6).
What should I do to punish her for being so wicked and breaking God's law? Do I need to have her stoned publicly, or can I just burn her to death in the privacy of my own home?
You know, my mother and father got divorced and remarried. Jesus says you're not allowed to divorce each other (Mark 10: 11-12, and Matthew 19: 9) and that if you get a divorce and re-marry, you're committing adultery. The Bible clearly says the penalty for that is death (Deuteronomy 22: 22 among other places).
Do I need to put them both to death myself? Am I responsible for putting their spouses to death even though they really aren't my parents, or do I need to turn them over to their own families to do that? The Bible really doesn't say on that one.
Speaking of other families, the practice seems to be pretty common... do you think God would object if we all got together, rounded up all the people in the Church which have been divorced and remarried, and just herded them into a stadium and blew them all up? I mean, sure, technically it's not burning or stoning, but it does have elements of both, and it would be so much more efficient.
And why exactly are we offering all that rape counseling to women who are raped in our cities? The Bible clearly says since she didn't cry out loud enough for others to save her from her rape, she should be put to death for it (Deuteronomy 22: 23-24). For that matter, why aren't we forcing all these little girls raped by men to marry them the way God wants us to (Deuteronomy 22: 28-29).
Oh, but let's not leave men out and just focus on the women. What about a man who has been in a tragic accident where his genitals have been maimed or destroyed? God doesn't want him any more. He's forbidden to go to church or worship God (Deuteronomy 23: 1).
Kids born out of wedlock aren't welcome, either. God doesn't want the little bastards in his church, no matter how much they try to love him or how good they try to be (very next verse, Deuteronomy 23: 2).
Oh heck, not only does God not want those little tykes right from the get-go, no matter how much they try to be good and love Him, but even if they do everything right, grow up and get married and have children, God doesn't want those children, either... or their children, or their children's children, or their children's children children, even if every one of them is born within a marriage.
He doesn't want to see you in His church if any one of your ancestors in the past ten generations was born out of wedlock, and for the record that's about 1,022 people excluding you. Can any of you say for a fact none of your ancestors out of that number were born out of wedlock?
Okay, let's leave behind some of the more colorful things the Bible suggests for a bit and talk about the other side of things.
The Christian God is also the Hebrew God, and the Hebrew God has given his people (and therefore you) very specific commandments on how to do things. He's given you a divine language and writing, he's given you the way to mark the days... all sorts of stuff.
Why aren't you using any of it?
Why are you using this barbarian language made up by the Phoenecians and adapted from their pagan, nature inspired characters instead of the proper Hebrew?
That watch and clock on the wall? They mark time using a Babylonian system.
What about the way we mark the days? Those are taken from Greek and Egyptian ideas and based on the power and majesty of Sun Gods. You shouldn't be glorifying that, you know. You should definitely mark the days from dusk to dusk like you're supposed to.
Look at your calendar. Four of the days on it are named after Norse Gods (Tuesday is named for the god Tiw, Wednesday for Woden, Thursday for Thor, and Friday for Frigg). Saturday is named for the Roman God of the dead, Saturn. Sunday and Monday, of course, are named after the sun and the moon.
What about the months? Most all of those are Roman. January is named after the Roman God Janus who guards the gates of the afterlife, February after their ritual of paying offerings to the Gods. June is named after Juno, who is the wife of the king of the Gods. August is named after Caesar.
What about the planets in the sky? Surely good Christians named the most majestic of God's creations in his honor!
Well, yeah, if he happened to be a Roman God. Very devout Christians started the practice of naming everything in God's sky after pagan deities. Seemed like the proper thing to do, I suppose, making sure every God was represented in the Heavens except for the one you're worshiping.
You know, I could keep going, and going, and going... but I think the basic point is probably made.
You have made it clear you do not want this question answered, that you have already chosen what you believe. You are very willing to level against others the judgment of the Bible, but how much of it would be levied against you?
Are you willing to accept that judgment, to admit before everyone else and God that you are no more important as a person than those acts?
Do you have no more depth, no more virtue, no more heart and soul and deserve no more consideration than mere half-dozen word passages written thousands of years before you were born level against you?
Faith is one thing, but if your heart rails against all the ways judgment can be used against you because they are unfair, because they are uncaring, and because they are unjust, then to quote St. Augustine:
"If you believe what you like in the gospels, and reject what you don't like, it is not the gospel you believe, but yourself..."
and again when he said:
"The words printed here are concepts. You must go through the experiences."
The saints see forgiveness and grace. What do you see?

If you are a Christian, you shouldn't accept homosexuals, because it is a sin and God's Word says it is.
God says you should love the person, not the sin.
If a person chooses out of their own free will to be with a person of the same sex, that is their business. As long as they aren't imposing their belief that homosexuality is ok onto others.
If they know that God's Word says that two people of the same sex should not be "doing things" with each other, it is a sin. It is sin whether you know it or not, because there are plenty of people, articles, and resources out there written on it about how it is morally wrong it is.
You don't see animals doing any of this. Having two of the same sex together. Animals know that a male and a female are suppose to be together. Now, what happened to human beings. The world is full of corruption, this is one of the things that will corrupt the world and lead to its down fall.
Especially, since now people are going around getting sex changes. Soon, we won't be able to tell who is male and who is female. What is worse, is you might end up being with someone and never knowing that they are actually female and not male or vice versa.
People will end up becoming cautious and untrusting, they will make people get DNA tests just to make sure they are what they say they are. You can't change your DNA, no matter what you do to your physical appearance or your body.
Homosexuality is wrong, no matter what any body says about being born that way. When you are a baby, you don't come out saying that you like people of the same sex. You choose that lifestyle, you make up your mind about choosing to be a homosexual. It is a choice to be or not to be and you make that choice, nobody else does.

Why is it that when people have questions about what the bible says about homosexuality that they often liken homosexuals to people who practice bestaility? This is a completely ignorant parallel.
And, yes, just as heterosexuals are born the way they are, so are homosexuals. It is true that we all have a choice who we have sex with. But we do not have a choice in who we love. Love is not a choice.
And, to your question about normality. You are assuming that the only reason for sex is procreation. The Catholic church doesn't even preach that anymore.
The only place in the bible that refers specifically to homosexuality or "man lying with man" as a sin in Leviticus. And that book is full of sins, including not wearing blends of different fabrics, eating shellfish, and pork and the fact that it is a sin for women to wear red. The Jewish relgion, amongst others trys to follow many of these laws today but in fact, if you take your shirt off and look at the label and if it is not 100% cotton, polyester, or any other fiber and it is, in fact a blend of fabrics, then, according to the Bible, you are commiting a sin equal to all the others, including homosexuality. So, check your sources. Don't listen to hateful bigots. And, find out the answers before you make judgement on others.

As you probably already know, there are a lot of "sins" in the bible. As you probably also know, there are bunch you choose to ignore. Your "reasoning", to use the word loosely, is variously based on some Paulist nonsense about a so-called "new covenant" or some later "re-interpretation" of what's written in black & white - e.g., the Sabbath is NOT a Sunday, regardless of the spin you give it. (By the way, Paul never knew Jesus, so you accept his authority based on what a bunch of Roman politicians decided you should be able to read in the "New Testament.")
In any case Jesus said not a single bit of the law was to be changed. But of course we can always find ways to make the scriptures fit our needs, can't we?
And I see you've jumped ahead of all the scientific research on the issue and have discovered that gayness has nothing to do with genetics. Bravo! Have your friends notified the Nobel Committee?
I don't really mind when religious people talk about religion. I figure whatever floats their boat is fine. But you're way, way out of line when you construct baseless arguments based on fields you know nothing about.
Or perhaps you remember that fateful day when you said, "Hmmm, let's see ... I like guys AND I like women .. so I guess I'll go with what the Lord wants me to do." THAT is nonsense.
UPDATE: bobbylips:
So ... are you gunning for them like it tells you to "surely" do? Seems to me you're falling short of your duties otherwise. OK, maybe it;s not legal now, but would you like it to be legal that they'd be "surely put top death?" Wow, is that loving the sinner or what?

By noticing that homosexuals aren't doing you any harm at all. They don't hurt you for being gays, because they are not even interested in your life. If you cannot just love them, you can at least ignore them. They are not like criminals, or rapists, or burglars, who can affect you and your beloved, even though you chose not to be affected. Gays and lesbians cannot hurt you at all.
And what's normality, anyway? I bet you must have some abnormal features, too. Are you not too fat or too thin for your height? Are you not a lefthander? Aren't you red-haired? Aren't you going bold? Don't you wear glasses? Don't you need any kind of orthopedic help? Aren't you a little deaf? And most importantly, don't you know anybody who is like that, and who you call normal? Well, they aren't. If normality is what most people are, they aren't. But nobody cares. So, why would we care if gays and lesbians are not what most people are? They're just as normal or abnormal as any of the people above. And yet, all of those are perfectly accepted in society, aren't they? Why would you discriminate against homosexuals, then?

It is easy for people to be repulsed by that which seems to them unnatural.
Notice that most men are turned off by the homosexual lifestyle but not so much with lesbianism.
Christians sometimes make the mistake of thinking they must totally reject the homosexual on the basis of their behavior. Jesus did not feel the same. When sinners were brought to him he healed their problems both physical and mental then instructed them, "Go and sin no more". He didn't reject them, He wanted them healed and the church can't help heal anyone who is outside and not allowed to come in.
It can be difficult, but Christians must learn to hate the sin while still caring about the sinner.
I include myself in that.
God can look inside the person and know if their leaning toward same-sex relationships is caused by some genetic or hormonal imbalance and He will allow for that in His judgement.
Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
It shall be the task of God to decide if homosexuals deserve forgiveness based on their personal relationship with HIm. It is not given to humans to make such decisions. Our reasoning is tainted by sin.

You are wrong. Just like blue eye or brown eyes it is genetic. It is not a choice. Do you honestly think that a person would choose to be part of a group that people make fun of. beat up, curse at, call sinners and are vilified by people like you who think God has died and left you boss. Come on now would you join that crowd on purpose?? "Judge not lest ye be judged" Why do people who profess to be Christian and Bible readers always forget that Jesus said that and He also said "Love one another as I have loved you" When He hears people like you---Jesus weeps----

sin is sin and it doesn't matter if it's stealing or homesexuality. As Christians we shouldn't condone it but we have to show a better way.
Jesus was around all types of peeps and never bashed them yet I see that done a lot in here. We have to get to a place in our own lives where we strive to live and have more and more of Jesus attributates.
to me personally yo hear one say they were born gay makes me sick cause we r created in Gods image and my God aint gay.
we have homosexual friends they know where we stand we don't talk about it a lot but they know they r prayed for and loved.

Everybody sins, every sin is equal to a thousand others to God. Not to say that I can accept homosexuality, because I am highly against it. But I will not hate or persecute them for being a homosexual. However, I do not believe that homosexuality is born, it is raised through their socialogical surroundings especially as children. But they are just people like everyone else, so try to accept them as you would someone else you don't agree with. As we should love our enemies, so should we love those who are different than us. :-)

Christians do not have to accept homosexuality. It's an abomination to God and should be an abomination to us also.
