Religion is one of the taboo conversation topics of our day. Many people find the teachings of Jesus Christ and His church very offensive. Why should Christians tell or not tell others about Jesus?

Sharing the message of God's Kingdom is a command from Jesus hence from God. As God sent Jesus forth as a representative. To teach the things of God. I do nothing of my own initiative; I seek, not my own will, but the will of him that sent me. Then preaching the Kingdom message is a commision from God. And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in the all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come Matthew 24:14. Matthew 9:35 says And Jesus set out on a tour of all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news of the kingdom. Jesus sent his deciples forth by twos to preach the good news of the kingdom listening to their reports when they returned. We are to use Jesus as an example in our behavior in fulfilling our commision. Romans 10:14,15 However, how will they call on him in whom they have not heard? How, in turn, will they hear without someone to preach? How, in turn, will they preach unless they have been sent forth? Just as it is written: " How comely are the feet of those who declare good news of good things!" As true Christians it is our obligation to preach the good news of the kingdom. It says at 1 Corinthians 9:16 If, now, I am declaring the good news, it is no reason for me to boast, for necessity is laid upon me. Really, woe is me if I did not declare the good news.

I think there is a line to be drawn.

I'm a Christian, and I think it's right and good to tell others about Jesus and about Christianity, however I'm frustrated by seeing so many Christians go totally nuts and try to force people to believe something that they do not.

Sometimes people are so extreme in their beliefs that, even as Christians, they stomp on the rights and beliefs of everyone else, condemning them to death and hell because they are not a Christian. I think this couldn't be further from what Jesus would want from his followers, and it's downright wrong if you ask me. Who are we to judge anyone? All any Christian could or should do is offer knowledge to those who want to hear it, and do their best to live their lives in a way that coincides with their beliefs.

Most people who "share" Jesus Christ with others are really trying to indoctrinate others. The same for any evangelical religion, such as Islam, or evangelical social agendas such as Marxism.

So to pretend you are "sharing" is dishonest. And anyone not of your faith sees that quite clearly.

When you indoctrinate someone into a religion, all you have done is gotten them to take sides in a battle between religions. The beliefs are simply a way of identifying membership on one side or another. That is what is offensive and destructive. It would be better to eliminate all beliefs as being the utterly unvalidated nonsense that they are and seek the commonality of all religions of caring for others, which is the only meaningful task for people of all religions. To be human is to care. We don't need any beliefs to care for others.

Since there's a huge difference between sharing and forcing; since people sadly and badly confuse the two; sharing is OK. Those involved don't have to agree, but sharing ideas is healthy. It should not b competitively based. Also, the extremists (...and every group has 'em) are pushy and make discussions about Jesus so offensive to others. "Can't we all just get along?"

Happy Sabbath.

it's one thing to share knowledge and enlightening others in a positive and informative way, its something else entirely to scream at the top of your lungs at a street corner preachin' your little heart away about how everyone that is ignoring the irritating tone of your voice is going to hell.

Everyone should be well versed in all forms of religion, not just a specific one. keeping the horse blinders on only serves the purpose to continually go straight without any deviation or stops along the way. There is nothing wrong with sharing a concept...ie witnessing to one another...it helps to stregnthen anothers beliefs...but the moment one turns to the other and says "you are wrong".......that incites violence and hate.

The squeaky wheel always gets the oil, I just wish the castors got changed out when they start screechin'.

Yes they should. Christians were given this command at Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."
Since the end has not come yet, we are still obligated to obey this prophetic command.

Yes a True Christian should share the message of Jesus and about his Father, Because his life/ministry was so important for us today, Because of Jesus we can go too his Father when we sin and ask for forgiveness, Without Jesus there would be NO hope for Humans today.

What planet are you living on? Religion is not taboo in most circles.
A lot of people shy away from speaking about religion with Christians because in general, a lot of Christians are ignorant and intolerant of other religious beliefs.

The Great Commission

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.
17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
