Usually it is worms if the blood is red. This is caused by the worms chewing through the lining of the intestines. Could be a other problems but this is the most likely in a pup. The wormers available at the vet's are superior to most over the counter wormers.
And your pup needs to be seen by the vet anyway for a well-puppy exam and vaccinations. Don't wait on this visit. Unprotected pups can catch DEADLY viruses. Ask your vet while you are there about a good worming program. This isn't something that is done once & it stays done.

Is the puppy eating and drinking? Is its stool all blood or just a bit of blood in it? The puppy could of ate something that caused a bit of blood, or it could have worms as all puppies get worms from the mothers milk and should be wormed starting at two weeks old the 4 weeks then 6 weeks and again at 8 and ten weeks, as long as they are nursing this needs to be done.
Puppies can also get parvo, and this is bloody, stinky stools. If the puppy hasn't hadf its shots you need to get it to the vet and get them along with the worming. Worms are deadly to the puppy as well as parvo.

It is not normal for there to be blood or mucous in the stool, it is sign that something is very wrong internally.
Stool covered in jelly (mucus) can be a large intestine condition or the illness colitis. Clots or bright red blood in the stool can be a lower digestive tract problem or he may be bleeding from his anus.
I do not believe he has intestinal parasites, I belive his has an internal condition that can only be diagnosed by a veterinarian. Your vet will have to take x-rays and run tests on his bowels to be sure. I can not offer any natural healing advice without knowing a solid diagnosis.
Plain yogurt is very good to give him. It contains Probiotics which are good bacteria needed to keep good balance in the gut. Keep him on this. However, it may not cure his condition. I strongly urge you to take your pet back the vet and have him run tests. If you are not satisfied with those results, I suggest a second opinion.
Puppies this age can have these problems, some puppies are born with them and are based on heredity.
Your puppy may also have an allergy, perhaps to his food. Check the label for animal by-products, poultry, beef and corn. These are common things that pets are allergic to and can cause dysfunctional bowels. It is a trial and error process with various food types but well worth it in the long run. I recommend putting him on an all natural dog food. There is a food called "Life's Abundance", its a little pricey but worth it. Many of my clients use this brand of food with their pets who have allergies, Irritable Bowel Disorder and various gastro-intestinal disorders and have had outstanding results. You can research this food at www.healthypetnet.com, it is a wonderful food for all animal types and I think you will be pleased.
I am sorry I cannot offer better advice on your question. Please take him back to the vet and explain my email to him and have them run tests. Your puppy's age is critical and you must address this disorder now so he can grow into a happy and healthy adulthood.
I hope this information has helped you and your pet.

Hi, blood in the stools could be parvo virus so take to the vet asap.
If the dog is ill and weak and dehydrated with it then there is a chance of, but then dogs can bleed for other reasons. Yahoo answers hasn't the solution, your vet does.

Get to the vet immediately. Collect and bring with you a sample of his stool. Call the vet to see if you can refriderate it before your visit, or how he recommends you store it.
Do not wait to take your puppy in.

Internal bleeding results in black stool. If it is visibly red, It can't be as serious as black, but it should probably be checked by a vet

Find a vet. If there's been no physical trauma, my bet is that the poor fellow has intestinal parasites. You can also gently squeeze his abdominal area and see if that really hurts the pup. But ultimately, if you love that dog, take it to a pro.

Had the same problem with my cat. Turned out to be a blockage in his rectal tract. By the time I got him to the vet, he almost died.
Cured with medicine that broke down the blockage. Don't ignore it.
He's fine now
