You've got to be kidding...
No, it's perfectly acceptable. In fact, sometimes at a fancy get-together, I'd intentionally make myself vomit all over the food.
The hosts really seem to appreciate this.
Then, just for giggles, I'll blow a few monstrous snot-rockets in the drink of the person sitting next to me...you know, just to be polite because that's the way I am. I love showing my appreciation for an expensive dinner banquet by eventually covering the entire table with various liquids from my body.
Imbecile...

Believe it or not, back in the Middle Ages, you could tickle your brain with your pointer at the table and nobody would have cared...but later things changed, and today, nose picking anywhere in public (museums, in a car at a red light, in the dentist's office, on a bench in the park), even at a banquet, is considered a lack of good breeding and also very disgusting. Once again, its a cultural more (more-ay) that we have been taught to follow.

It is very improper to do so at the dinner table but what you can do is excuse yourself and go to the little boys room and you can pick your nose there to get what ever you have stuck in your nose. Don't take more than 5 minutes though.

Totally improper. Go to the bathroom or another place out of the eyesight of others.

(My grandmother taught etiquette at a finishing school for girls) It is definetly improper to pick your nose at a banquet. Unless of course everyone else is doing it ;)

It's like using the "proper" fork or whatever. If the hostess burps and farts and picks her nose, everyone else should make an effort to do so as well.

If you have to ask that question - I'm afraid booger-mining is probably the least of the faux-pas you'll be making at this banquet.
It's not a polite thing to do in company.

If you have animals as dinner company then it's alright. Otherwise you may get kicked out of the banquet.

No, i do not imagine its irrelevant. i understand its irrelevant. ok, some boogers require using a finger. and that i will %. my nostril even as i'm on my own. yet, I by no potential do it contained in the corporate of human beings, extremely even as they're eating.
