Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. Do not believe in anything because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason, and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, accept it and live up to it.

I love you when you bow in your mosque, kneel in your temple, pray in your church. For you and I are sons of one religion, and it is the spirit.

Your talent is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God.
There will come a time when you believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning.

The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart.

None of this will really make sense to you until you're almost too old to appreciate it. But give it a shot anyway.
Ps. Try to look for the lessons behind the literal meanings so often harped upon by others.

DON'T GIVE THE CHILD A BIBLE !
If he wants to grow up and join a sect, he/she will.
By getting him into sectarian behaviour so early in life, you are perverting his thought processes, and will quite probably ruin his life.
How would you like it if someone gave your child a book on Satanism for his birthday? You wouldn't. Stay out of it.

Just your hopes for the future of the child, a memory, or a personal experience relating to the bible, how it helped you, etc. Hope this helps.

I would quote Mark 10:13-15:
People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
And afterward something simple like "Blessings and Love."
