Why?

Once you understand that God gave us free will and does not punish us for our choices(there are of course consequences for our decisions/actions), then it becomes easier to accept the fact that there is no sin. In this physical world, there are dualities: good/evil is one of those. If one does not experience evil, then one cannot experience good. The existence of one depends on the existence of the other.

Rather than accept the responsibility for their own attitudes/decisions/actions, people look outside themselves and either ask God(or their priest or others) to forgive them OR they angrily turn the blame to the devil. The devil is an all-purpose fictional character who can be blamed for anything that is considered evil, wrong, unjust, or negative.

There are such things as demons(low-level spirits) who are sometimes encountered during astral travel and they must be ignored at all costs. It is true that sometimes a person can be possessed by such a spirit. Exorcism is an extreme measure but is sometimes necessary to expunge the demon.

The devil made me post this answer.

Hell no. Makes for a good story though. It's really quite a smart invention on the part of the church. The Devil is a scare tactic and form of control that keeps a lot of Christians in check and the money coming in.

God is like Santa Claus for adults and the Devil is like the Boogey Man. I'm always amazed that people believe these miraculous and ridiculous stories in the Bible. Don't they ever wonder why those "miracles" only happened in Biblical times and nothing like it has ever happened since? It's like reading Lord of the Rings and believing every word. It's really a shame how the churches con these people. You don't do what we tell you and you'll go straight to hell with the Devil.

Yes I do. Why, well currently he is residing in the bodies of my daughters 2 best friends who are now making her life miserable! So since she just moments ago said they were no longer her friend since they are ganging up making her miserable I have to definately say again that the devil is currently residing in these 2 little brats bodies.

Nope. I don't believe in the Devil. The concept of the devil is a tool to control people through their fear of a painful afterlife. It is offensive to my faith in God.

Yes.

Because, just like God, I've seen his handiwork. Also, God tells me about the devil in the Bible, and I know the Bible to be true.
