To be "Born Again" is to believe and confess the promise of Romans 10:9 and 10. If you believe God ,and believe and confess Romans `10:9 and 10 then one becomes Born Again, or more properly "Born from Above." For it is at that very moment that God creates in you Holy Spirit ( for God can only give you that which he is).

The reason the term "Born Again" is used is because you are a product of the union between your Dad and Mom. When they had you you were born the first time as a "Body and Soul" human being. Now the body is self evident, the soul is your breath life. Life begins with your first breath and ends with your last. You are of the seed of a man born to a woman. When one becomes "Born Again" you are born with the seed of God, which is "pneuma hagion" or in english "holy spirit." And that's just the start. If you want to go further then it is up to you.

The "renewed mind" is the key to spiritual growth and prosperity that is available when one believes. There is a requirement to getting "born Again" and that is that one believes God and that he is! How do you get to that point? One must read His love letter to mankind..the Bible.

I call myself "Born Again" because it "is" a true statement.

God Bless You!

If you acknowledge there is a God then you are not atheist. you can know a lot about God and even say you love him but to be born again means accepting his son Jesus as your personal savior and saying he died and arose on the third day. Be born again into a different life of loving Jesus and living the way He did.

Interesting take on this. I think the idea is that a new heart results in renewed senses and therefore a totally new perceptions of life, just like a baby going from the darkness of the womb to a world they could never imagine until they have arrived. Bad things in life tends to cause our hearts to grow cold like when you touch a sea anemone and its tentacles retract. If you jab it with a stick it may never open up a again. Some of us have had sticks jabbed in our hearts with harsh words or broken promises. Unconditional forgiveness gives us the freedom to let our senstivities to be restored to when we first entered this world. At least that's what happened to me as a 19 year old staunch athiest.

Tell me what you felt as a baby...if you know enough to make a statement that you don't know any thing about GOD when you are born, then explain how you came to this conclusion...Do you have any children? Have you ever watched a baby?

Born again christians accept Jesus Christ as their savior....they are baptized in water....the Bible is their guide to living a Godly life. Being born again is like having a second chance...spending eternity with God in Heaven.

The idea is that after experience with life, one knowingly (not just being forced to Sunday school and such) accepts Christ as Savior. This is being born again. Some take it seriously, and try to live their faith, others are jerks, rather like any group...

ah but you're looking at it from an Athiest perspective of which the term was not created for. From a christian perspecitve I would suspect they would say that you came from god thus already a christian, once realizing it you become born again.

Those who have never experienced being born again, can't believe in it. Those who have experienced it can't explain it. A natural fleshly birth you understand, a spiritual birth into the Kingdom of God you won't understand. Flesh and spirit are at odds.
