What is the proper etiquette? I find it distracting when the rest of my foursome stands directly in line with

backswing, or anywhere within my pereferal view for that matter. Yet, when I ask them not to stand there, they act as though I'm just making up excuses. Am I wrong to expect their consideration when the others don't need it? Should I try to learn to irnore their positioning?

They should stay out of your pereferal vision -- behind you. I'm not sure what you mean "in line with your backswing". If they are behind you , you can't see them unless you are moving your head, and if you are doing that, you have bigger problems than where people are standing.

What you do is on your backswing 'accidentally' let go of the club. I'm sure you won't have to say a word again and they will know to stand behind you and out of dangers way.

According to the USGA, a player must stand at 30 degrees or farther from the player hitting there shot to not be penalized. Two stroke penalty shall be incurred if the rule is breached.

It is wrong etiquette to stand behind the player. So, you have every right to tell them to move. Although keep in mind that the pros hit with people behind them all the time.

In caddy training as a kid we were taught to stand across from the golfer with the ball in between. I don't care for people standing behind me or to the rear of my swing.

Tell em' to move!! You should go to a PGA Tournament. The caddies and players are telling plenty of people to quit what they were doing. It's okay for you to do the same.

i dont like people behind me either, but i do like them to stand where i can see them. idk why, i just dont like the feeling of being 'watched' by somebody i cant see.
