Sounds like something on Fear Factor, but was it at a sushi bar? Sounds like that would be the only other place someone would eat raw octopus. I wouldn't eat it.

Raw octopus is actually quite good!!! try it!!! IN Hawaii we ate it all the time. It's called "tako poke" (no, it doesn't mean to poke a tako. Tako means octopus in Hawaii and poke means Hawaiian seasoned raw fish.) Try this recipe:

2 lbs fish or tako, chopped
1/4c. ogo, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1/4c. maui onion, chopped
1/4c. green onion, chopped
1t. sesame seed, crushed
1T. shoyu
1T. oyster sauce
2t. sesame oil
1/2t. chili pepper
1/2t. Hawaiian salt (or more if desired for fish)

Combine all ingredients and chill.

-- Ogo is seaweed. ..You can substitute any sweet onion for the Maui onion if you don't have it. It's ONO (delicious)!
