A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:
The correct way to burn fat and stay healthy is to burn more calories than you consume
You need to make sure you are eating healthy foods while still excercising
If you have a big appetite drink plenty of water so that you will feel full but not consume calories
But you should always eat
If you start to skip meals you will only be more hungry at your next meal and probably eat way too much
Remember, the average persons stomach is as big as a slice of pizza scrunched up into a ball
So you shouldnt be putting more food into your stomach than what fits
Also, it takes aproximately 15-20 minutes for your brain to realize that you are full
so eat slower and you will realize sooner when you are not hungry anymore

ALSO....
i found this artical called "50 Habits of "Naturally Thin" People
How to get Started:Decide how much you want to loose and see how many calories a day it will take to make it happen by year's end. Then, work into your routines however many of these eating tweaks and exercises you need to achieve your goal.

First of all you need to be doing cardio. The type you choose is up to you but you will not loose weight and keep it off if you aren't doing some form of cardio. This means get in the gym and run, jog, eliptical, or some other form. Research timed carbohydrate diets. This kind of diet is the most effective for shedding fat and keeping it off. Basically what it boils down to is eating slow digesting carbohydrates early in the day and cutting off all carbohydrates past 6-7pm. Avoid refined carbs like white breads, white pasta, white rice, sugars, etc. Whole wheat bread, wheat pasta, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, etc will be fine.

Just because you take in less calories than you burn DOES NOT mean you will loose weight. If those calories are coming from junk foods then the body will storre excess fat. Your body doesn't have a calorie calculator to tally up the macronutrients from your daily food intake. While it should make sense to loose weight if you only consume 2000 calories and burn 3000, it just doesn't work that way. A calorie is still NOT a calorie. If you take in excess fats and refined carbs then you are sure to gain bodyfat regardless of the amount of total calories consumed. Eat adequate amounts of protein, adequate amounts of healthy fats, and eat slow digesting carbs early in the day. Do this with a sound exercise program and you WILL loose the weight and keep it off.

Simple - calories expended should be less than calories taken in. Work on exercising more and cutting back on caloric consumption. Eliminating soft drinks, fast foods and sweets is an easy start. Dairy products are also high in calories. Try switching to a partially vegan diet, which is generally low fat and low calorie.

Keep in mind that you don't want to do any harm to your body while trying to lose weight. Just pay attention to nutrition on the foods you eat and try to stick with home-cooked healthy foods. Eat lots of fruits and veggies and lean meat, take vitamins and drink water or unsweetened tea. I know someone who lost about 20 pounds in a few months by switching from soft drinks to water. And don't overdo the exercise. Start out slowly, make sure to warm up and then gradually increase the intensity of your workouts. If you hit it too hard you'll hurt yourself and have to stop for a while to recover. You can even do simple things like walking to try and lose weight and increase your overall fitness.

Don't eat unhealthy foods (I would recommend going on the GI diet), and exercise every day for at least an hour.

Here are some fun exercises to do:
1) Dance. Bellydancing, poledancing and modern dancing make you sweat the most, and are also very fun!
2) Take a walk. Enjoy the surrounding environment, breathe in a bit of fresh air, and lose those pounds.
3) Martial arts/boxing/wrestling. If you ever get annoyed/irate, take it out on someone in your class, even if they had nothing to do with it, or you can buy a punchbag, and lose weight!
4) Shopping! Shop 'til you drop, and I mean that almost literally (don't shop until you get completely exhausted, just until your legs start to feel tired).
5) Sex!
