So many people say, I don't need to go to church to have a relationship with God. But that's not the only reason you go to church. It's not just going to pray, the whole idea is to take time out of your life, on the seventh day of rest, and worship him, with him. Is it just that people don't get that?

Church is very important for Christians. Many people say they can stay home and worship God. I can"t. I have to go to church to get spiritual fed. God commands us to go to church. Read Hebrews 10:25. I believe if a person is truly saved, they will have a desire for Church. When Jesus saved me, i had that desire to go.I say if a Christian does not want to go to church, then there heart is not right with God.All born again believers should attend a good Bible believing church.

Maybe they can't find the "right" church, I'm still looking, though I still attend a presbyterian church, most of the time. If you read the bible for yourself, and don't rely on your denomination to tell you what to believe, you get very confused trying to find one church that is "right". I'd be happy if I could find a prestyterian church that honored the correct sabbath, I'd be thrilled, but its not gonna happen. The Saturday sabbath churches are mostly initiated by false prophets, or nutcases, so can't follow them.

What I'd like to know is why christianity followed Constantine when the declared the sabbath to be Sunday, just to convert Roman pagans. They honored their stupid idols on Sundays, so Constantine thought it would make an easier conversion. Here we are in 2006, and christianity goes full speed ahead breaking a commandment, honor the sabbath and keep it holy. That does not mean change it to Sunday! Just ticks me off.

So anyway, maybe there are others like me out there, can't find a single christian church who does it half-way right.

I think what makes one christian (or jewish or buddhist or muslim or pagan or zoroastrian or anything else for that matter) is not where they choose to spend a particular hour every week. It should be a person's overall belief system, which should be reflected in how that person chooses to live his or her life. If you as an individual feel that church is the only place that you can take time out of your life and worship (and if you feel that worshipping is taking time out of your life rather than a part of it), then for you going to church is important. Recognize that not everyone shares that feeling.

Some people believe that church is a very show-off way to express your belief in God. When people lift up their hands toward "heaven" during the songs most of the time they are just really saying "Hey look at me, I love God the most, I'm the best" they aren't really praising him, you can't judge someone for not going to church because sometimes they do have their reason for not going.

I can only speak for myself as one of those 'Christians that don't go to Church' . I look around and see alleged christians (note I use a small c because these folks aren't really Christians) trying to legislate their version of religion for everyone else. Thursday I listened to some alleged preacher from Jupiter, Florida deliver a radio massage that was pure republican politics, could have been written by Dick Cheney himself. Rather than listen to the falsehoods 'preached' I would rather see god in every person I meet, every tree, sunrise, sunset, etc. When christians decide to become Christians perhaps I'll want to attend a gathering of like minded souls but I'm terribly afraid Christianity in teh US has gone over the edge. For now, churches are more social/political clubs than religious organizations. I have been driven from Church by christians, and I don't like it. So change the church then invite me back.

How many people don't have a church to go to? I see churches - I see all kinds of churches - but non how I believe. They not only believe apart from what I do - but VASTLY apart.

I could not attend a Mormon or Roman Catholic Church and get any good whatsoever from them. We in effect would not be worshiping the same God.

If my Salvation, my ability to praise God is limited to a Church building then I would have to ask - what Bible are you reading. Is it that you don't get it? You're sitting on the judgment seat determining what makes Salvation maintainable and do-able, and it is all pent up in going to a building in order to make one a Christian.

And who are you to assume people don't honor Sabbath if we don't attend Church? Who's church? You church? I doubt it is anywhere near where I live.., not a viable plan.

I have asked this question many times. Jesus says "Where two are more are gathered, I am among them". The sad part is some people are just lazy to get up and go to church. Mayne they stayed out later, or woke up feeling a bit off but not sick, or in some cases they feel really good and just want to stay in bed. The worst kind are the ones who do not go because of the "hypocrites". That is another cop out.

Well that is true for some people. Also, some people do not like the way churches are going in some directions, so tend to avoid them, while still believing in God.

Because it is not necessary to go to a building and pray in public so everyone sees you at church. Jesus said "Go into your closet and pray". If you are a believer you don't need to be the Pharisee, showing up in your finery so people will see you. You can be the humble servant who talks to God every day and doesn't need to show how pious he/she is. That's why!!! You can worship with Him anywhere.

I'd rather not be associated with the hypocrites who go to church each sunday, then go home and drink, do drugs, beat their 10 kids and screw around on their spouses, thank you very much. God can be worshiped and prayed to just fine from my room.
