It just seems like we're all under a dream-like state of mind. No one questions why we are here. They don't question why anything. They live and die, an endless cycle. They think they're right all the time, some think they're always wrong. But no one bothers to explore, what is this in front of me? Am I nothing more than an insect, on top of a sugar cube?

you know what, I would stay away from the "what is reality" stance.... it'll only lead to mental illness, at least in most cases it will

Rene Descartes once said Cogito Ergo sum- I think that is why I am. You think and so you know you exist.

The thought you had is something that many thinking people encounters at a period of life. You know for ever cause there is an effect and for every effect there is a cause. If you are able to find one you can definetely the the other one exists.

As you have written " I am nothing more than an insect on the sugar cube" but the fact is that we are even smaller than that when we compare us or our earth with the universe in which we are surviving. But it is sure that we exist (you think) - the effect and so definitely there is a cause. The cause and effect has a relationship. Let us try to find the relationship.

As you mentioned; to live and to die may not be the purpose of life. The is something beyond, that we think usually. You know that the universe that we talked about is vast but ordered, designed and purposefully made. We are a part of it and see, we are as and more perfectly created. There is a is a purpose.

You (we) are a 3 part being, Body, Mind, and Soul.

The earth is an illusion just as our body's are an illusion, all created by us to have a place to feel and experience love.
Now there are infinite varieties and degrees of love.

In our Spiritual or soul state, this is the reality place. This is who we are, and we are all one together.

Try authors like N.D. Walsh, E. Toule, W. Dyre, the Dali Lama,
and there is a book tittled Illusions which is a very good read.

You are connected to all things so I guess you are part of sugar and all life. Yet you mind is not a part of anything else but you. You are a unique creation.

Enjoy the journey, we are meant to be happy.

Yes, we are real. However, we are more than are bodies. Our bodies are only temporary. They are like clothes for the soul. When this body is worn, the soul will change clothes to continue its journey until it finally reaches moksha (liberation from the cycle of birth and death and union with God). Everything manifested from God and everything still maintains the same divine spark within it. We are all interconnected, but we are lost in the illusion that we are not and out of ignorance of true self we do harm to other people, animals, plants, the planet, and even the universe. We should strive to see God in everyone and everything and to treat all as we treat God.

Atleast, that is what I believe, as a Hindu.

Peace be with you.

Hello,

I believe to every beginning there is an end. To every start there is a finish. I am a Christain and i believe we ware put in this earth for a reason. I am not going to be dishonest sometmes i question that..... i believe there is something waiting for all of us and i also believe death is only the beginning. So on earth i do see some stuff that has the same cycle as human but i always look beyond on what i see and also appreciate that God created me and everyone , God didn't have to, but God did.

and all our reward is waiting for us, from God. God is a fair God and i Love God for that

This is not a philosophical speculation. It is an empirical fact that has been proven by modern science. Today, any scientist who is a specialist in medicine, biology, neurology or any other field related to brain research would say, when asked how and where we see the world, that we see the whole world in the vision center located in our brains.
This fact has been scientifically proven in the twentieth century, and although it may seem surprising, it necessarily implies answers to two questions; "If our lives are visions created in our brains, then who is it that creates these visions? And who is it that sees these visions in our brains without having eyes and enjoys them, gets excited and happy?"

If you're in a dream like state of mind, you may be suffering from depression, and bi-polar disorder in particular. Seriously, this is a symptom. Talk to your doctor.
