i have had 6 kids and out of theese 4 of the midwifes were amazing they all more or less said you can do this and you are a strong women who will soon be holding a beautiful baby in your arms.
my bad ones were 1997 when they told me i had a water aiinfection and wasn't in labour my mum ended up delivering my daughter in the hospital she later died at 5 weeks old and the midwifes lied a lot when challenged the second one was in 2006 and she was just a ***** who was tired and thjought that cos i was having my 6th child i would have an easy delivery cos i took longer than she expected she wasn't very nice but i have found that most midwifes are nice people very compassionate it is just the odd few i ho[pe everything goes ok for you good luck:)

Cannot remember the midwife for the eldest now 11 but I remember the midwife i had for our second child (now 8) because she made me laugh all day long and she and my hubby were betting on the oxford/cambridge boat race. The midwife that delivered our third child i can remember very clearly as she is only just 10 months old. I only saw her 20 minutes because i had a very quick labour and i can just remember the look of shock when she saw how fast i was delivering - she just had time to get the bits needed ready.

My Mom told me that when I was born the midwife was a trainee, she wasn't very good, and the surgeon had to come to stitch my Mom up (pardon the pun) he yelled at the midwife to get out of the room after several attempts to fetch something and bringing the wrong thing.

My midwife on my firs child was really lovely. She explained everything I asked and also when I said that I was too tired to cary on told me that if the baby was more than 10 mins before coming she would do all the work after that. I guess she knew how close I was.

the best thing about my last midwife is that she didn't leave the room and go for a break. Also she let me give birth on all fours which i would recommend rather than lieing on your back.

i was at the birth of my son,no bloody midwife to be found and that was in a hospital,i helped deliver my son and my wife then had a hemmorage,it was only a passing nurse who spotted us trying to cope with every thing[,buzzers not working and all nurses and midwifes either on t break or busy else where].so no i didn,t like the cow.

we have a team of midwives as we are nearly 40 miles from the hospital. they looked after me all through my first pregnancy - that midwife is now our health visitor.

my second was just as nice - she was the first person to hold me son and she brought me tea and toast afterwards

i am now 6 months gone with the third and also really like the one that i have now -there are four but they try to see the same people in their pregnancies

i think it makes a difference to have a midwife that you feel comfortable with and can confide in - i loved my pregnancies and am glad that i had the midwives i did

I can remember each midwife for 3 babies. Asked me, just at a crucial time, did I want a mirror to see!! Noooo way..

Worst thing was baby no 2 - STOP PUSHING!!!

My midwife for my second baby was really nice. My labor was really long and they ended up giving me pitocin to get it going quicker, but I did it without pain medication and the whole time she kept me focused and told me how great I was doing without the epidural. As soon as my daughter was born I got to hold her and nurse her right away, they didn't take her from me for at least an hour- not even to clean her up. And I really didn't care at that point- I was covered in amniotic fluid and blood too! It was an awesome experience.

Five years ago..

Her name was Gay and she made me feel totally guilty for making my partner pregnant!!

Our son was being born 16 weeks early (24 weeks gestation) and all she could think about was whether my partner had enough tea.

Bringing new life into this world is one of the most magical moments you will ever experience, well it should be but they (the establishment/authority) but in at every given moment.

She totally spoilt it with her robotic attitude of "Men are to blame, for me doing this job".

In a way though it helped as it made me want to get a grip on reality and the moment and I spent the next essential 48 hours with our son, Jakey watching the so called professionals, every single move.

Jakey was 1 lb 9 oz.

Any biscuits!!
